Absolutely, may take a little while as the cooling blocks will need to be designed and released by the 3rd parties, and this is a whole new design on the PCB so nothing currently around is likely to work. PCS would also need to make the builds and test them thoroughly before making them available.

Hey folks.
After today's announcement I'm looking at snapping up the 3080 FE for my machine but have heard of the 12 pin connection from LinusTechTips and I'm really unsure about the PSU situation, I've always had my PCs pre-built.
I'd very much appreciate if I could buy the 3080 FE with the 12 pin and plug it into the CORSAIR 1000W RMx SERIES™ MODULAR 80 PLUS® GOLD I got. I've not opened up the PSU shroud since I got this machine from PC Specialist last November. I've looked at images online of the PSU and it's connectors but honestly I've no idea what I'm looking at and where it'd be plugged in.

You just take the 2 x PCIe 8pin connectors (often labelled as 6+2 connectors) and plug them into the 12 pin adapter which plugs into the gpu.

Rumours are (no confirmation as yet) that FE cards will include an adapter.

Is there any reason they’re priced higher than what NVIDIA said in the announcement? I’m new to all this so don’t know if NVIDIAs prices are before tax etc?

PCS don't price stuff at stock and then add on a building fee. You have to pay their building fee somewhere.....

I wonder what brand they'll use. Prices for the 3080 vary from £650 to £800 from the small number of sites listing prices so it isn't too bad really. I can't find prices for the brands PCS have used in the past though; Zotac or Palit. The Zotac looks very nice though, they've upped their game in the aesthetic region since the 20 series.
Yeah either one, I have a palit 2070s and it's brilliant.. can't fault it. PCS do sell other brands i.e. Asus but you have to pay more and are generally right at the bottom of the gpu list when you scroll.
Starting to wish I'd spent more to get a better base system when I bought my system back in January

Also don't game on my system but do ton of rendering animation i would think 1 3090 would be big boost

I'm not so sure it would be a big boost to be honest. It'll just do certain things FAR better. It depends on the instructions and core utilisation to know whether it would be an improvement for you.
I'm sure there will be reviews etc that will cover the sort of information and insight you are looking for.

I would have gone with 2 3090 but giving their size they may need water cooled and not willing togo down that rute.
when i say big boost i mean by memory really with 2 2080ti octane only shows 11gb of that memory
with the 3090 this will give 20gb plus.
As for rendering speeds probably around the same but with rtx their may be boost on this to.

It's very possible you will be able to get 2x 3090s in a system. The way the cooling works suggests that they will be very efficient so I don't think cooling will be a problem. You have a hybrid method of working with some of the air being circulated and some of it being exhausted. It's an excellent solution if it works the way it's intended and suggested.
If your case is the H500M then you could have one card vertical and one horizontal (I believe).
