It's not until you get to the factory overclocked options that they do custom PCB's and their own boost clocks.

I don't feel confident enough to mess around with overclocking, so whichever 3080 I end up with will do me fine.

Since the 1000 series NVidia GPU boost is so effective, it automatically overclocks the card to where it's possible based on thermals, it's so damn good that there's very little headroom on the chip left to achieve much of a meaningful overclock, or at least that was the case with the 1000 and 2000 series cards, it may be different with the 3000 series, I'm not up to speed with it's overclocking potential, must admit.

Funny you should mention that....
It turns out Crysis is actually a premonition of the war sent to us by Crytek who is the leader of the Alien resistance who had a soft spot for humans. It was entirely filmed on iphone (apple are a big sponsor of the Alien overlords). It was sent to us to prepare us for the upcoming war. Your GPU essentially made Crysis irrelevant.

That's interesting. I ordered on Friday evening and have been given an initial estimate of Monday 19th. They must be expecting a biggish shipment of 3080s in the next week or so.

I pessimistically wouldn't get too excited by that, hopefully I am wrong but I've been getting mails on Mondays and Wednesday saying its going into build 3 days after the email for 2 weeks now. I orderered at 14.06 on launch day. I'm just disregarding the 6.35am email these days as its just automated and not really one to go by in my opinion. 12 days in pre-production now, just going by it will arrive when it arrives now.
