so ROSSL496 says it went into building and testing today, but GARCUL who ordered 6min after the launch is given en ETA of 3 to 5 weeks.
What's going on ?
Also pray for me who couldnt order before finishing work :')
You're completely misunderstanding just how short stocked these cards are.

PCS initial stocks of 3080's of which they had 2000 apparently sold out within minutes of going live.

This was the case all over the world, very few stocks were allocated and demand was so high that it crashed websites all over the world.

So you may think that because one person is six minutes behind the other, they should therefor be close in the queue, what you're missing is that in that time, probably thousands of orders were confirmed.

Just sit back and accept you're going to wait, the more you linger on looking for a definite answer of when you're build is due, the more you're going to drive yourself crazy. Just wait patiently until you get the email to say your build is in the build queue.

When I spoke to them they said that was not the case at all they never had any stock and they don’t know where this 2000 stock idea came from. Is there no real representative of PCS on this forum at all ?

No, they don't monitor the forums. You need to phone them if you want to speak with them directly.

You know I have that feeling I may have to prepare myself for very long wait for the 3090 card, even if it’s into next year.

Some sources have said their stock could be in for the long haul.

These may be rumours of course

I have not contacted pcs since Monday last week I am just going to let them do their thing and see what happens
whether that’s in week, month from now but I am sure pcs will get these cards in for the next few months though :)

it’s just best to set yourself up for that wait and not to expect on the earliest.

This may work out well for you though depending what happens with the AMD announcement ;)

Does it depend on what country he is from? I assume other Places in Europe may get stock before the UK, if your from the UK that is.

Actually i have always assumed that the UK rigs are built in the UK and not shipped from abroad is that the case?

Im still waiting ordered on the 17th also. You pray for me i'll pray for you lol.

Thought I'd share my experiences, ordered a RTX 3080 in a rig at 14:07 on the 17th September. I've had the same series of misinformation from PCS in emails regarding my estimated build date as others - initially 25th Sep, then 25th Nov (that was acknowledged as a mistake), then 28th Sep, then 28th Sep again, then 2nd Oct and now 7th Oct.

Having spoken to PCS again today I feel they've done a very bad job on keeping their customers informed. I understand there is massive demand for these cards, demand that can't currently be met, but the sheer number of emails with incorrect information is both confusing and annoying.

I've spoken to them today and asked specifically what my position was in "the queue" that has been referred to in a couple of the emails. They said they couldn't tell me. Supposedly there is a queue, it's just not accessible via customer support or they won't pass that information to me (I'm not sure which).

I've just cancelled my order.

You're well within your rights to cancel your order, but i disagree that there's been misinformation.

The emails you're referring too from PCS giving the estimated build dates were always that, just estimates so I don't think its fair to suggest this was misinformation. PCS will have a large backorder for these cards and I expect (but don't know for sure) this is/was driving those estimated dates. Outside of those mails, its been widely reported that there are none of these cards available anywhere.

Admittedly, there was an error in one of those mails, when a November date was suggested about a week or so ago but this was a mistake which was quickly clarified.

I'd say its more that there's been a lack of information, but I figure this is just because there isn't any information to give, PCS don't have a date for receiving the cards yet. Although I understand that can be frustrating. Perhaps I'm more forgiving than most.

Just for clarity, I'm also waiting on a PC with a 3080, so I'm in the same boat as everyone else here.

PCS are sending emails with estimated build dates that they know are impossible to deliver on. That's what I consider misinformation. It's not an estimate if you know it can't possibly be true! Regardless, it doesn't matter to me now as I've cancelled.

I hope your build comes through soon.

The emails they have sent me have clearly stated everything I need to know about my order being delayed.
Yes I still got emails saying my pc is being built tomorrow but the email I got on Friday explaining the 3080 stock issues clearly said ignore the automated emails regarding build dates.

Seems to me like you're implying malice which is what I'm disagreeing with. I don't think PCS intentionally misinformed anyone, they are just as in the dark as anyone else. As has been mentioned in this thread several times and on the forums many more, these emails are automated and linked to the stock system.

As soon as it was apparent PCS were not going to get any of the cards in stock they rectified that and updated the affected customers.

As with any JIT supplier/manufacturer you are receiving estimates based on the information that they have. You're just at the end of the supply chain.

Nvidia Factory - Nvidia Warehouse - Nvidia Distribution - PCS - You

They expect to supply X units to the warehouse
The warehouse plan to distribute the pallets to the distribution centres throughout the world (they won't be Nvidia, I'm just using this for ease)
Nvidia distribution then send them out to the re-sellers

The factory will have given the Warehouse a date for parts
The Warehouse will have then given the distribution center a date for parts
The distribution center will have then given PCS a date for the parts
PCS then give you an estimated build date based on that delivery date and where you are in the queue.

If anywhere in that chain the date changes, your date changes..... it's as simple as that. It's like waiting on a bus and moaning when it's not exactly on time to what it says on the timetable. There are so many variables in play, and so many stakeholders, that it's completely impossible to predict with any real accuracy. Each email will be stressed as being best guess with the information at hand.

Nothing is certain until your PC arrives with you.

Oh, just to add. As said I wrote it like above for simplicity.

As much as Nvidia are the overall big cheese in the above, the actual distribution centres then split down into the various manufacturers and suppliers before the PCS branch. PCS have stated that they put in as many orders with as many suppliers as they could. This means that there are many more balls being juggled just for the supply of these new 3xxx series cards before we even begin to consider the PCS stickers.

same here, same emails with eta, then a few hours later, another email advising to disregard the previous email.(just cancel auto email for rtx3080 orders maybe ?)
Also contacted this morning with the same result.
Yet i didnt cancel because i think the issue is the same for everyone. Maybe some websites will have more transparency or accuracy with the ETA, but in the end all we, as customers, can do is wait.
Would still be interesting if you could update the status of your new order, if you did reorder.
