Hello
First off, I tried to use the forum search function, but I am clearly not writing the correct Search Terms! Can someone please help.
In March, I took delivery of my new PC Specialist Octane VI laptop.
Specs:
Chassis & Display Octane Series: 17.3" Matte Full HD 144Hz 72% NTSC LED Widescreen (1920x1080) + G-Sync
Processor (CPU) Intel® Core™ i9 Eight Core Processor i9-9900K (3.6GHz) 16MB Cache
Memory (RAM) 16GB Corsair 3000MHz SODIMM DDR4 (2 x 8GB)
Graphics Card NVIDIA® GeForce® RTX 2080 - 8.0GB GDDR6 Video RAM - DirectX® 12.1
1st Storage Drive 2TB Samsung 860 QVO 2.5" SSD, SATA 6Gb/s (upto 550MB/sR | 520MB/sW)
2nd Storage Drive 2TB SEAGATE BARRACUDA 2.5" SSD, (up to 560MB/sR | 540MB/sW)
1st M.2 SSD Drive 1TB SAMSUNG 970 EVO PLUS M.2, PCIe NVMe (up to 3500MB/R, 3300MB/W)
Operating System Windows 10 Home 64 Bit - inc. Single Licence [KUK-00001]
Those are the key specs. Anyway; I've had a lot of issues with this in terms of DRIVERS. It seems PC Specialist did a fairly lousy job in installing my proper drivers. I had GENERIC drivers for the most part. The Touchpad being a prime example where I couldn't deactivate it. Only after MUCH searching did I find this is essentially a CLEVO machine. I installed the correct drivers and voila - the touchpad can now be customised (and turned off!!)
NOW FOR THE MONITOR: It isn't the best monitor at any rate (I mean, I am running a GTX 2080 on here). But I am wondering, In the DEVICE Panel, it shows up as GENERIC PnP Monitor:
1) Does it matter? ie; If I got the correct driver will some/abny gaming perfomance improve?
2) Does anyone have a link for the driver?
To date, I have downloaded over 10GB worth of drivers and stuff, and I cannot find something that will fix the "Generic PnP Monitor" issue.
PLEASE HELP! 💙
