Old GPU until market stabilizes

After 10years and many upgrades I am finally looking to get a new build. However as the GPU market is all over the place I will be buying a rig with no GPU and using my old AMD Radeon R9 200 / HD 7900 GPU. In hopefully a year when things are back to normal I want to purchases n AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT. I'm just worried that this new build wont like the R9. Any advice is more than welcome

Hi there! Looks like a good start but definitely some areas we could improve on. A few questions first

1) budget- what are you looking to spend?
2) uses- what will you be using the build for? < more info here the better!
3) monitors - Knowing the make and model or resolution would be great. Although less important now as you already own the GPU, we can always give guidance based on what monitors you have/ if you plan to upgrade once you get a new GPU
4) full spec and link- it’d be great to see the rest of the spec, not just the PC parts as well as the link at the bottom, it makes it a lot easier for us to suggest changes!

Looks like a solid build! One thing I thought I'd mention, is I'd hold off on the monitor until you know what GPU you'll be getting. £450 would struggle to get you a 3060 in the current market, where as if you were to wait until things are back to MSRP, that'd £450 would happily afford you a 3070- two GPU's that use totally different tiers of monitors. That 24G2U is a lovely monitor, but it'd be rather underspecced if you waited to get your hands on a better card. As a rough guide:

3060 and 6600XT: 1080p 144hz
3060TI-3070TI and 6700XT: 1440p 144hz, a bit more expensive, but well worth the extra!
