On Boot-up, one long Beeeeep and 3 short beeps and no display when connected to GPU

Hi!

I was playing a normal, not particularly taxing game, and then the screen went black, the fans in the case went crazy for about 20 seconds or so, and then the system shut itself down.. And feeling the case it was pretty warm!!

I let it cool for a bit, and then tried to restart it, and although the system seemed to start up, the screen was black, and I was getting this one long beeeep and 3 short beeps

I did some cable checking, swapped the DP cable in the back of the GPU to an HDMI cable, and restarted it, and the same happened

I tried the same with another rminotor I had, and the same

So, I thought that I'd try seeing how the cables worked directly into the MB, and it started up, beepless, using the Intel Integrated Graphics 630 (with both the HDMI and DP cables, separately of course)

After I got it working, I checked the system and there is no Nvidia GPU shown anywhere, (only shows the Intel 630 as a display adaptor), and also not in the Steam system check, and I can also not launch Nvidia Control Panel, and Nvidia Experience only loads to the first screen and then tells me that I don't have the correct drivers installed, even though I downloaded and installed the latest game ready drivers just a couple of days ago

The GPU itself still lights up and the fans are still spinning, but doesn't seem to be detected by the MB

As said, it's been working pretty much perfectly since I got it in June last year, and then mid game just stopped!!

First of all have you checked that the GPU is seated correctly in the motherboard and it its power cables are inserted correctly into the card itself?

Hi, thanks for the reply

I took the side panel off and wiggled the gpu about a little bit, but the lights and fans were still working on the gpu before I checked the seating, so it is and was definitely getting power

I have since received an email from PC Specialist after explaining to them what the issue was and they want me to return the entire machine to run some diagnostics, so it's all packed up and awaiting approval to return so I can choose a date for it to be picked up

Thanks again for the reply, and I'll make a post on here when I know what the issue was, just in case it can help others in the future with similar issues!
