Optimus Series RAM Upgrade

Hi folks,

I recently got an Optimus Series Laptop and I want to add more RAM. Does anyone else have this laptop and had previously upgraded RAM? My previous laptops had a pop away slot that opens up the slots to RAM, but I don't see them on this unit so I presume that I've to remove the full backplate. Just wanting verification on that before I go ahead

I have an Optimus VII & yes I have to remove the backplate to access the RAM sticks (& the hard drive).

A good idea when taking the back off is to have a load of small containers and place them out in a map of the back with the relevant crew in each, sometimes screws are different sizes so it is worth knowing exactly where they go. Plus an anti-static wrist band is worth the money, the chances of frying your machine are slim but are there and with an expensive piece of kit precautions are worth it.
