also i have a doubt..... i have a HDMI monitor and HDMI cable... should i just use that one instead of the normal monitor cable?
Do i need that one to watch blu rays?^

Doesn't make a difference except for the audio. Only HDMI transmits audio, so if you're using speakers, use the DVI. Otherwise, doesn't matter.
