The other issue with the AMD is it isn't compatible with the RTX 3080 on the IONICO, I'd have to settle for the 3070
Not sure what you mean? Processor has zero impact on compatibility with any GPU, GPU can run on any platform, it's reliant on PCIe which is a universal standard.

The 17.3" Ionico can have a 3080 on either platform as can the 15".

If a GPU isn't available with a platform, it's because it's sold out, nothing to do with compatibility. The GPU is part of the motherboard on modern laptops, it's not a modular component.

No according to the configuration tool, If you select the 3080 and the Ryzen, this happens

Yes, that's because they've sold out, nothing to do with compatibility.

All the AMD chassis have sold far more rapidly than the Intels because the processors are so much more efficient and far better in multithreaded workloads, that's aside from the security flaws on Intel.
