Furthermore, did you repaste the GPU and CPU when you upgraded them?

Yes I used MX 4 on both the CPU and GPU .
The laptop and bios support GTX10** Clevo oversized MXM and all 8th gen CPU's

So you’ve got a custom BIOS in it?

No it's PC specialist BIOS

And what was the original GPU in it?

Who knows . But even when GPU's are swapped the laptop still works perfectly fine it's only after changing RAM that caused the issue

That's not correct, it has to have a compatible BIOS to be able to take the new card.

I'm not going to preach on about this, you can do what you want.
