The Pop Silent is ok. It's not an amazing choice because the airflow isn't amazing which means cooling isn't great, certainly not as good as the 4000D (which also has a glass side panel, for what it's worth), but it's not too bad. I'd give it a hesitant "yes, probably". I don't think you could add extra fans with that case; as I recall it has a solid roof. (I'm on a train so can't look it up!)

And yes, you'd be fine with any old cheap display, so long as it has HDMI/DisplayPort input. Using it as a second display is fine; as you say, it's as nothing compared to a game. There's a Linus Tech Tips video where they demonstrate this; I'll see if I can find it when I'm home...

4000D is glass-sided, and has an airflow mesh front...

The Fractal Pop has a solid front so the airflow isn't as good...

If you want more glass, then the Corsair iCUE 4000X has front & side glass (but can't see a black version ATM)...

Thank you for the replies, love that you guys are so helpful. Switched the case back and we'll look at the second monitor in the new year. So after much deliberation and help from here I was about to order and the processor cooler I had specified is now out of stock! I've switched it to the Frostflow 240 liquid cooler which is in stock. Can you please tell me, will that be OK? I'd like to get it ordered tonight so it's hopefully here in time for the big guy in the red suit to take all the credit so swift replies very much appreciated please.

Yet more thanks!

It's probably fine. I'd be a little hesitant to recommend the Frost Flow liquid coolers as, not being a name brand, they're likely to be a little lower quality and we've had reports of their being noisy or pumps failing surprisingly early. I'd prefer one of the Corsair H100i coolers, but that might be a touch expensive for you...

How about the H100x? I'll go for the H100i if you think it's the right thing to do as I'd rather spend a little more for peace of mind, (but will happily save a little if appropriate!). While far from top of the range this build still feels like a significant piece of kit to me and I don't want to cheap out and risk consequences.

I notice there are a few H100i's. Do you mean the CORSAIR iCUE H100i ELITE CAPELLIX XT RGB High Performance CPU Cooler? Don't suppose I really need an LCD display...

The CORSAIR iCUE H100i ELITE CAPELLIX XT RGB High Performance CPU Cooler or the CORSAIR iCUE H115i ELITE CAPELLIX XT RGB High Performance CPU Cooler

Either will be sufficient for the 7800x3D...the H100i being 2x120mm fans, and the H115i being 2x140mm fans (a little quieter as they run slower for the same amount of airflow)...but neither will be noisy unless the fan profiles are misconfigured in the iCUE software.

Windows Defender, the built-in antivirus, is as good as most paid ones, and especially Norton, now more of a system hog than an antivirus.

And there's nothing more important than safe browsing and internet practices!
Did not know that. So the Kaspersky I pay for on my laptop is unnecessary?

Norton started hijacking resources, pretty much without warning, at one point. Very underhanded behaviour IMO so wouldn't put anything past Kaspersky nowadays.

Windows Defender is definitely the way to go for 99% of people. The 1% remaining know exactly what they need and what they're doing :)
