PC for Video Editing Spec help please

Hi

I am currently looking at buying a desktop PC for video editing (YouTube).

Please could someone help me with what Specs I will need?

I have a high end gaming laptop and it struggles to playback in HD when I’m editing and it doesn’t render well either! So don’t want to end up spending loads and have the same problem.

I’ve been looking a PC with the following Specs:
AMD Ryzen 7 5800X Eight Core CPU
ASUS Prime B550-+ (DDR4 usb 3.2 6Gb) ARGB ready
16GB Corsair Vengeance 3200MHz (2x 8gb Ram)
12GB AMD RADEON RX6700XT (Graphics Card)
1TB PCS PCIe m.2SSd (SSD Drive)
Windows 11 Home

Can anyone give me any advice? Ideally I’d like this PC to last so don’t want to get one that will only just manage, I’d rather get a good quality one that’s going to be fine for a while!

This isn't really my area of expertise but I can ask you some questions that can help point some of the other knowledgeable folks on the forum in the right direction towards speccing a build for you?

What is your budget for the PC?
What video editing programs will you be using?
Will there be any uses for the PC besides video editing? e.g Gaming, Streaming, Animation etc
What monitor are you pairing this build with? Make and model or resolution and refresh rate would be handy to know.

My budget is around £1250 which is the one I’ve listed above.

Il be using Premier Pro and Movie Studio.

I may also use Adobe Photoshop for editing photos. But no other uses.

I’m not 100% sure on the model of my monitors sorry!! I currently use 2 Lenovo monitors.

Urm, what's the specs of your gaming laptop? It sounds like your workflow is set to use the iGPU instead of dGPU? Have you expressly set Hardware Acceleration in Premiere Pro?

I'm not familiar with Movie Studio, but that would need it done also.
