PC Restarting While Gaming

Hi all

Was hoping someone could assist with my PC issues. It's a relatively new build I got from here but while I've been gaming I've had issues with the PC crashing randomly and the very occasional blue screen. The games that seem to be the main culprits are Tabletop Simulator and Crusader Kings.

Looking online it seems it's a PSU issue, but some PSU calculators say what I've got should suffice.

I've attached a copy of my build for reference.

For all that your power supply and cooler are significantly less than I'd recommend, they really should not be causing your PC to blue screen or restart. I would advise you to contact PCS and ask for support. A problem with the power supply seems most likely, but it should not be happening and if it's a fault it will be covered under warranty (or indeed under consumer protection law if your PC is fairly new and you didn't get at least the silver warranty).

Thanks both! If I'm remembering correctly they were the recommended specs, or at least close to, for the particular tower I'd selected and my husband had a look through it too. I've already raised a support ticket so hopefully I'll be able to resolve it from there.

PSU calculators tend to go by the advertised power consumption of the configured components and add 10-20% headroom, but in real life we see some components (e.g. GPUs and Intel CPUs) drawing as much as double their advertised power.

We (the volunteers on here, not PCSpecialist) realise buyers may want to put in a beefier GPU in a few years instead of dumping the PC, so we configure the builds to include both space for upgrades and room for GPU/PSU power spikes.

And it's not just the rated wattage (after all, AMD recommend a 700W supply for the 7700XT, so it should be sufficient even accounting for those peaks), it's also the quality. The CX supplies aren't ones I'd choose for a gaming PC. That said, it should be sufficient, which is why I'd be asking for support here. It certainly sounds like a PSU problem.
