Hello, i have had many issues with the pc i ordered since i got it around a year ago and have already RMAd it twice and do want to do that again so i am turning to the forums (i have ram replacement and a motherboard replacement in 2 different returns)

the issue i am having is the pc wont POST when i have the XMP profile on in bios, i am the latest version of bios for my motherboard, the pc will only post when i use it in the default speeds of 2133mhz, this is a major inconveneince to me as its greatly impacting the performance of the games i play competitively.

the solutions i have tried are, reseating ram, trying different ram configs with XMP on and i even tried reseating the gpu. this problem appeared to have started since i had a monitor blackout where my gpu drivers uninstalled themself and my gpu was yellow flagging in device manager. since i had this issue the pc wont restart properly when i tell window to do a restart, it will just turn off instead of restarting.

if anyone can think of any fixes instead of returning yet again that would be great

thanks!

So after PCS had RMAd it, they would have set XMP to test and returned it.

So when you received it back from RMA it wouldn’t boot?

Or you then changed it? Or PCS hadn’t set the XMP?

So what changed before it wouldn't post?

Did you apply any boost in the BIOS, or add any software like Afterburner or PrecisionX or any change any settings in Gigabyte motherboard software? Or move the PC? Anything out of the norm that may translate?

as i said in my original post it may have stemmed from this issue

i do use afterburner for temp monitoring but i havent applied any settings that arent default
i did not apply any settings that PCS hadnt done for me

When was that issue? After the RMA?

What were you doing at the time, what software were you running?

the monitor blackout was.. probably a month ish after i got it back, i was just playing minecraft at the time and i tried restarting the system to fix it where i noticed my second monitor was no longer working, i reinstalled the drivers after that then it appeared to have fixed itself. then the XMP problem started a week ish later, ive just been dealing with the bad memory speeds since

This may be best to follow @ubuysa advice and upload logs and dump files, if you could go through the following and hopefully he can take a look when he's next online

While you're at it, if you could create a bootable Memtest86 USB, there's a guide on how to do it on this page:

Do a full pass with that which should highlight if the RAM is somehow compromised.

1) i do not have a minidumps folder as i have never BSOD with this pc
2) all the relevant information i could gather from @ubuysa 's post is here
3) sadly i am not in possession of a usb stick right now :/ is there a live software solution i could use?

could i make a partition on my external backup drive and image it on that? if not ill just buy one tomorrow and do the test then
You may well be able to, but I think it will format the entire drive, I'm not certain, it may be clearer on the instructions.

in that case ill just grab a USB stick tomorrow and get back to you, sorry for the delay, but thanks for the help so far :)
No pressure on time, whenever you can. Gives @ubuysa time to analyse the logs, he find something that leaps out.

I doubt very much it is the RAM, but it's an important test. Something complicating overclocking the memory fabric of the CPU, I would have though more likely something to do with the motherboard since you've had CPU and RAM replaced already, but it's never safe to assume things, always test the symptoms firstly to rule them out.

IIRC that generation on the X570 and B550 boards, there were a few that came with PBO overclock applied out of the factory for some unknown reason, although if I recall they were mostly Asus boards, but that's certainly something that could attribute to these symptoms.

got it around a year ago

Sorry to intervene on some good advice / help but how close are you to having the PC one year?

As these aren’t official support forums,if you are still within a year, log your issue with PCS now so your warranty doesn’t expire whilst trying these remedies in case it is a hardware issue if some sort.

sorry for the delayed response, i think i have around 3 months until i come up on the one year, and since ive already had so many returns im just hoping to sort this one myself if possible

Theres no problem in that, but just be careful how close you get to the one year as dont want to let time fly by and it go out of warranty.

3 months is plenty of time though :D
