It'll get you off the ground. There are definitely bits that could've been optimised but it's a bit late for that now.So what you think
Totally agree with this. The PSU will also be a somewhat limiting factor in future if you’re ever looking to update your graphics card, you have a low wattage budget model which isn’t going to support a modern GPU. But be prepared for a fairly intensive job if you do upgrade the power supply, the CV units have miles of spaghetti in there and it’ll be a reet old faff. It'll get you off the ground. There are definitely bits that could've been optimised but it's a bit late for that now.
If you want a suggestion on what I'd change first- I'd personally add an M.2 SSD. Something like the PCS 500GB SSD will do the job for only about £45. Re-install windows on it and it'll make the PC feel like a whole new machine- download a couple of your favourite games there and you'll be blown away by the load times and general speed of the machine. After that it'd likely be replacing things that were badly specced in the first place- that single stick of RAM will be crippling your performance big time.
It's the Power supply. CV is one of the tiers of PSU's by Corsair. It goes (worst) VS, CV, TXm, RMx (best). There's more but they aren't stocked by PCS so not worth mentioning right now. They're quite basic units that'll, again, get the job done but not something I'd want in a super top end PC. I personally tend to recommend the TXm750 (TXm being the tier and 750 being the wattage) as a minimum. A unit like that would cover you up to a 3070 quite happily meaning there's lots of room for upgrades without needing to replace the unit which as you might find out can be a very fiddley task.Ok so can someone tell me what a cv unit is
It means uninstalling the Windows operating system from the HDD it's currently on and installing it on the new SSD you've just put in. I'd recommend looking into it more once you have the SSD in hand and if you're comfortable doing it, but here's a pretty simple video to follow on how to do it:Ok when Junior said re install windows does that mean when I get the ssd
You'll want to go for an Gen 3 NVME M.2 SSD they're the best price to performance currently offering blistering speeds for great value and need no wires so are super easy to install. I'd also get at least 500GB, that'll give you enough for Windows, applications then a couple smaller games, you could go for a 1TB drive to store more games, but not totally necessary.Does it matter what kind of ssd
PC's just are expensive. That's why in my initial message I recommended the 500GB PCS M.2 SSD, it'll be about half that and still massively improve the experiencePc is very expensive it’s saying it’s €100 for a 1tb intel ssd
