PCS build issues

Jumping on this thread as I have a very similar issue with almost the same build, case, gpu, cpu, cooler, all look identical, Already had to return it once and was determined as a faulty cooler. This was replaced but the issue has Re-occured 3 months later, now seeing the same high 70 Degrees on idle, 95 + on load.

Currently not sure what's causing the issue but I'm starting to suspect the Cooler is the issue and its simply not up to the job and packs up.

Could be wrong though!

Thanks for coming back to me,

So I have an update for you although I do find it unusual,

Back in July 22 the cooler failed, the Fans were replaced and the system was cleaned out and returned. The AIO then failed again in November, having only just been fixed and cleaned,

I've attached the Fault Report for both failures.

I keep my PC on a desk, and do clean it out, granted, in the 4 months between both failures, I hadnt.. I think personally having to remove the AIO Cooler completely and deep clean with Pressurized air in the space of 4 months seems way to excessive, never have I ever had to do it before at intervals like this.

I've decided this time to go with a different cooler, as I'm starting to think that may be the issue.

Any advice welcomed

1st Failure RMA

Fault Report
We have completed our RMA repair of your system. During the testing phase we were able to isolate the fault to the cooling system clogged with dust and 2 cooler fans failling. These hhave been replaced under warranty.

To further rule out any hardware or software faults, the system was placed on an overnight stress test. The system has passed these tests with no further faults replicated.

As we have had no further issues with the system and it has been cleared by a second technician’s quality control checks, the system will be released back to you.

2nd Failure RMA

Firstly we replicated the issue that you was experiencing and after first cleaning out your system because it was full of dust and debris. We repasted your cooler again and found that although it had made a big difference due to not being clogged up, it still was not enough to stop it overheating, the pump had unfortunately failed.

We replaced your cooler with your new one that you had purchased and the system operated correctly and under all the stress tests there were no further issues.

We would suggest that in future use, a regular clean out of your system would help your cooler a lot and increase its lifespan.

To further rule out any hardware or software faults, the system was placed on an overnight stress test. The system has passed these tests with no further faults replicated.

Is the room the PC particularly dusty? In a normal operating environment, you shouldn't need to be air dusting large anounts of dust every 4 months. Do you smoke in the room? Do you regularly dust, vacuum, clean the room?

If we assume that dust is not the root cause (perhaps you can share some pics of the case fans, etc?) then sounds like the cooler has failed again. But you also said "having to remove the AIO Cooler completely and deep clean with Pressurized air", did you remove the AIO pump head from the CPU? Or what parts did you remove from the case to clean. Perhaps components were not correctly installed again after removal?

I have since moved house in-between it failing the first time and 2nd time, but neither the new nor old house are dusty, I dont smoke and we hoover in the room regularly.

What I meant was it seems excessive having to do it, I hadn't taken the cooler off when the PC has been with me because it was cleaned out back in July, so like you say it seems very strange from July-November that in that time the AIO has become so excessively full of dust/debris, that the pump has failed completely.

I planned on doing a more thorough tear-down after around 8-9 months and it would be then that i would of used pressurized air etc.

Attached are some images of the PC setup in the new and old house so you can get an idea of airflow etc, (not the best pics as PCS have the system at the minute but its always been kept on a desk, with sufficient flow etc.

Looks clean to me (although not the best pics as you say), so I doubt dust is a factor. Another case of poor quality Frostflow AIO? We've seen a few people report failure before. I'd see if they can change for the Corsair H115i instead, unless you want to try third time lucky with the Frostflow 240?
 
@IRLRobinS Ended up settling for a H100i ELITE LCD in the end, I'm hoping that will do the trick, really don't want the hassle of having to send it back in a few months time.

When I can ill send some more photos but I've always been conscious to keep the setup and and surrounding areas clean :)

Sorry, I keep forgetting that H100 is 240mm and H115 is 280mm, so H100 is an equivalent size.
Yes, I can see that from your room photo. I'd like to say I keep my own office/gaming space as neat, but......
