Performance issues on Dragon age veilguard

Hi guys, been trying to play the new dragon age and every thirty seconds or so I get horrible lag and the audio tears. I noticed on the task manager the CPU and GPU utilisation drops low when this happens. I have all the latest drivers and have tried on the lowest settings and the problem persists. I am stumped at what to do next, any advice would be appreciated.

What resolution are you playing at?

Are you using any DLSS and Ray Tracing?

That cooler is nowhere near enough for the CPU, fist thing I'd do is run a stress test and monitor temps after 10 minutes, fairly certain that's going to be heavily thermal throttling.

As you were advised when you first got it: https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/forums/threads/5-beeps-on-startup.89927/#post-684853
Thanks for the reply. I ran a ten minute stress test as advised using OCCT and it did run hot which then caused the CPU to drop in utilisation in the task manager which is probably the problem.

I asked for a recommendation of what to do last time and no one mentioned anything, is there a particular cooler you can recommend and if so will it definitely fix the problem?

Hi, thanks for your help so far. I did a bit of googling and have seen where I went wrong with the cooler. Would a CORSAIR H100x RGB ELITE be suitable do you think?

For an i7 you’d need a H115i Capellix (2x140mm fans with 280mm rad) or H150i Capellix (3x120mm fans with 360mm rad).

I think the 360mm version is the largest that case supports.

If you want minimal wiring then the iCUE Link versions are the newest.

Lovely stuff, thanks for your advice. Hopefully that will sort the problem when I can get round to upgrading it.
