I don't think I've ever needed to be in safe mode for DDU.

What steps are you following to enter safe mode?

It suggest Safe Mode in the notes/guide, but I think that's just to make sure it can 'unhook' stubborn drivers to uninstall them.

In most cases it's not needed, but I don't like the way Windows now has you go through multiple steps confirming what you actually want to do...whilst the computer is still working...you want an easy & consistent method (i.e. F4/F8/F11 at startup) to get straight into the troubleshooting options.

Thanks for the help. Yeah was just following this guide but I’ll try it later without safe mode.
