Hi,

My PC is here and I could really do with some help with the Windows install.

I Have my USB with Windows 10, new PC is all plugged in and on screen, but the list of partitions is confusing the hell out of me.

This is what's listed...

Which of these partitions do I delete, before adding the new Windows?

Thanks.

You delete all partitions on drive one and install to the free space

Can you try changing the USB port you are installing from?

So if using a 3.0 USB port - try using a 2.0 USB port or vice versa?

Try clicking "New" to create a new partition. Once it's complete, try next on the main allocation from there.

That's not an error, that's what you should see. Highlight that unallocated space and click the Next button.

Hi,

I've tried that, does not work. I highlight the unallocated space, click next, and it tells me it cannot use that drive???

Then click New to create a single partition the size of the drive, format it, and then click Next.

It gives the error as shown in the image. It’s unable to write to the drive.

@PauljC when you’re back, try removing the m2 drive and reinstalling it, then try again.

Hey,

Just a (very late) update to all this...

The support team were incredibly helpful, and after a session on the phone they remote logged in and between us we got everything sorted. Really helpful, very friendly guys on the other end of the phone.

Six months in now, I have zero problems, the PC is as fast and quiet as expected and I have moved over from editing on a Mac with Final Cut to using (free) Davinci Resolve on this new PC and the results are superb.

Thanks again to everyone on here for the help and to the fine people at PC Specialist for the before and after care.

Highly recommended.(y)
