So I booted up the rig posted in the first post (my six-year-old first ever PCS purchase) today before it joined the Boozad PC graveyard. It took a good couple of minutes before it was in a state to use and was as noisy as an aeroplane, I can't actually believe I was still using this rig just four months ago, I can really see how old it is compared to my new rigs. I did start booting from my old copy of Windows 7 32 bit to format the main hard drive but it was taking so long to actually do anything I just decided to remove the hard drives before disposing of it. I took a sledge hammer to the HDDs and I couldn't believe how well built they were, it took plenty of blows to do enough damage for me to be satisfied that they were beyond use before lobbing them in the bin.
I then placed the rig outside on the front wall, and it was gone within twenty minutes, God knows who took it. But before it went on its merry way to wherever it's gone I took a couple of photos of the innards, just something nostalgic for me to remember it by. I'll miss you neon bubble cased Athlon, you served me well.
