Hi there! Don’t mean to sound blunt but you’d be wasting your money by getting a 3080 for 1080p 144Hz. The monitor you’d need to get any actual benefit from that card would be costing you over a grand, like a 49 inch 1440p screen or a 4K 144Hz. A 2060 Super would have you more than covered for your current monitor.

If you wait until October there’ll be the new Ryzen chips and a 3060 / 3070 card on the horizon which will likely eat 1440p 144Hz for breakfast. That might be the more logical process unless you have very deep pockets. In which case, I’d be more than happy to help you spend your money 😁👍

thank you for your advice, decided against the 3080, would you say the 2060 super is worth the upgrade from the 1070 i currently have?

If you let us know your budget we'll see what we can come up with that'll be optimum for you (y)

What will you be using the system for? Gaming, streaming, editing etc?

So you already have that system and you're just looking for a GPU upgrade, is that right?

The 1660 Super would have you covered for the 1080p. Maybe the 2060 Super if you want a few added bells and whistles. I'd suggest waiting a month or two if you can, the rest of the 3000 range will be released soon and then prices are going to be a lot more competitive (y)
