It looks to me like this build could be improved and better balanced. I will leave it to one of the experts to comment in detail. Please be aware that the vast majority of posters are volunteers and not PCS employees. At this time of year they may well have other prioritie, even in the current environmen.

Yep a lot have day jobs working up to and in the case of dedicated frontline care workers over Christmas and New Year.

@SColie if you follow the advice in this link and include a link to your build you may get a better response.

comments for now.

I assume when you say 27” monitors you are referring to 1440 or 4K monitors, as no one buys a 1080p screen over 25”, as they are pretty much rubbish in regards to image quality.

Assuming that they are 1440p screens, then look at upgrading to a 3060 Ti.

CPU, consider a Ryzen 7 5800x

change the 500gb SSD to a 500gb Samsung 970 M.2

up you PSU to 750 PSU

on board sound is good, so no real need for sound card.

if adding fans go for the Corsair LL120’s better fans, quieter

cooling could be improved.

The suggestions above sound good. Especially the graphics card, the first thing that stood out like a sore thumb, with that kind of budget is that you can lean towards a significantly better one.

With the monitors, they don't have to both be they same, you could say get a nice 27 curved screen like the samsung odyssey G5 (1440p 144Hz) as your primary screen (gaming), and then get a 1080P screen as your secondary screen (browsing, office type files etc)

I’m not an expert and others may be able to add/subtract from this, but i am looking at a relatively similar build (but i’m going for R5 as i don’t video edit) and i have modified it to an R9 for you and tried to keep it as close to 2k as possible. Also, with a screen i’d recommend 1440p with 144hz and make sure it has a displayport 1.4.

Not sure why the sudden move to a Ryzen 9 5900 cpu?

I think that’s likely overkill for the OP.
Depends how they values their time i guess, for video editing, the R9 would be superior right?

Assuming they wants to go zen3, which i can’t see why they wouldn’t, the R9 is only slightly more than the R7. And it may be overkill for right now, but £50~ for future proofing is definitely worth it imo.

But it’s getting a balanced build and not just shoving top end bits in.

Which part would be unbalanced?
The only real difference between mine and yours, is between R7 and R9? If you’re spending £2000+ on a pc to play games and edit videos, i can’t see why you wouldn’t take the R9.

But like i said, i am no expert and some of the experts may choose to add or takeaway from what i suggested.

The build i am personally looking at, will have an R5, as i have no intention of using it for video editing etc, so would be overkill for me. But i think an R9 would be a nice fit for this machine.

The balancing also comes in reading the budget correctly as the £2k to £2.3k isn’t just the machine as he wants two monitors as well within that range. [emoji3]
