This is the spec page for the 550-PLUS WIFI (I think) - as i said though Im not up to date on Desktops, but just need to check and let OP know in case he thinks it includes BT

Question to the experts / advisers on this @sibun1 and @JUNI0R - does the motherboard also come with added in Bluetooth like the AX200 did or will he now have to consider a dongle?
The B550 TUF uses the same AX200 wifi card as the wireless card so both should have the same performance, only one's built in and ones an add in card. The ASUS site doesn't make it clear it's got BT which is annoying but I've ripped this from a retailer site. (the BT5 means Bluetooth 5 😂 )

Would like to think so but I know the good ones cost (unless on special). I can be flexible with reason say £2300.. thanks.
From reading through the thread, it looked like he's looking to spend a max of £2300 with monitors so this is the build I'd put forward. Then for monitors I'd go for a 1440p 144hz monitor like the Samsung G5 or AOC CQ27G2U then an inexpensive 1080p 60hz office monitor for £100. That should take OP to a smidge over £2300 assuming the GPU price doesn't shoot up before he purchases/ revisises.

Should be a very solid build for gaming and capable of video editing with the R7 and 32GB of RAM. The only part I might question is whether it's worth spending the extra for one of the Corsair AIO's for the R7.

Thanks for clarifying Junior - I know BT5 is bluetooth :D - but could not see that anywhere on ASUS website spec even though it does say AX200 it just didnt mention the BT element at all so I wanted to check.

And are we sure thats a B550 plus WiFi, not a B550M plus WiFi? (Which def has BT)

No worries, and yeah it's weird. That's what confused me initally, I feel like they should add it as a seperate line otherwise you have to know that the AX200 has BT.

Yup, I'm certain, although I'd imagine the B550M and the B550 have the same wireless chip card thing.

The odd bit is why Asus wouldnt label it on their own site...
For the B550M is has its own dedicated subsection in the specs, nothing on the B550.

Its like its a secret!

So did it save you money to make those changes?
Take note on the arctic thermal paste, you have a corsair cooler, its got paste on already thats equal quality (if not better).
Scraping it off to replace with arctic thermal doesnt gain you anything, but does increase the chances of a bad paste job...

The preapplied paste is done so its unlikely youd need to worry about the paste job at all, and would save you £9 more.

Little confused by the partitions, How come you changed the case/upgraded the GPU to a 3070?
And the 5600X CPU, it was confirmed that its a better choice than the 3800X and is cheaper as well?
OK cheers - I just couldnt see it on the Asus spec site for that board.
i thought the 3070 would be better than the 3060ti but not sure now after looking at reviews... but trying to buy the best I can afford...

the partitions were for no practical reason... what's good or bad about partitioning and the reasoning behind it? or shall i just search the forum?
also
if I can afford the R9 3900X should I have this one instead?

Change of case was just for aesthetics on my part...

will take off the thermal paste off the order...

3070 or 3060Ti... which is better?

anything else?

Ok.... standing back and waiting for the fallout...

Now on the laptop in the lounge...

Thanks

I'm not too sure on the ins and outs of partioning drives so will leave that to someone else.

If the main focus of this build is Gaming, I'd stick to the Ryzen 7 5800X. It's a fantastic CPU for gaming and it'll be ample for the frequent video edit. Also Ryzen 5000 gen took a hige leap over Ryzen 3000 gen. Here's a link to an article comparing Intel VS AMD, but focusing on AMD, you can see the Ryzen 7 5800X is a long way ahead of the Ryzen 9 3000 generation for both gaming and productivity and content creation.

Case is perfectly fine, the Cooler Master is a good choice, although is a very chunky case.

3070 Is better than 3060TI of course. Normally we suggest a 3060TI to someone looking for 1440p 144hz and a 3070 for someone looking to max out a 1440p 144hz monitor or a 1440p ultrawide. That said, the 6700XT has just been released and at it's current price it's cheaper than a 3060TI and trading blows with the 3070 so represents great value for money if you get it before it skyrockets in price.

This is amazing 😂 Also do I see RGB speakers?

When it comes to the build I'd recommend, I put one above you might have seen. It might be worth asking if people would recommend making changes to it, if that's something you go with. As you already have a G5, and plan for a 2nd. I'd remove the inexpensive office monitor I said to get (as there's no way you're getting 3 monitors on that desk 😂 )then spending that £100 on an upgraded H115i Corsair cooler and faster 3600mhz speed RAM. That takes you to £2,022 with a 2nd G5, you'll be at a smidge over £2,300, the budget you gave us later on page 1 (I believe)

The price on the current order when i put it in was £1900 (just over) and that would look like its putting more cost in...
When I gave a tweeked version in the other thread (when you were looking at improving the old PC you had too) I deliberately tried to keep below that mark, as i'm not sure what your actual budget is as a whole or what youve already spent.
It was because of that I didnt put a 5800X in, it meant also improving the motherboard to pair up well which just wasnt in budget.
The 5600X however was, and was an improvement over the 3700X thaat was in there already, and the 3800X.

Id take a proper look over what your price limit is and what youve put in already.... but i was trying to work on the basis of improving but no additional cost (money back if anything)

With the 1440o monitor, 3060Ti should be happy running it, 3070 should smash it and have room to spare with the screen you just mentioned and seeing the pic... but as said, 6700XT card just released, might be a good idea...

Partitions...in a modern system, gain you nothing really.
The OS will partition up the OS drive anyway, you adding more in just makes it all look messy, but doesnt actually do anything for you...
Plus you put a 1TB partition onn a 1TB drive.... it feels a lot like you picked stuff juust cos there was a field with options to pick stuff... just remove them.
