PSU / Mobo combo

Just configured a PC and the compatability seemed to be fine according to PCS.

Motherboard: Asus ROG STRIX Z490-F GAMING ATX LGA1200
PSU: Corsair TXM Gold 750 W 80 Gold Certified Semi-modular ATX

I put all the components into pcpartpicker and received this message under compatability notes:

The Asus ROG STRIX Z490-F GAMING ATX LGA1200 Motherboard has an additional 4-pin ATX power connector but the Corsair TXM Gold 750 W 80 Gold Certified Semi-modular ATX Power Supply does not. This connector is used to supply additional 12V current to the motherboard. While the system will likely still run without it, higher current demands such as extreme overclocking or large video card current draws may require it.

This occurs with the Corsair TXM 750W Semi-Modular but when I switch the PSU to a Corsair RMx 750W, the compatability messages goes away. Any advice on which PSU will be better (this build has a 3080 NVIDIA GPU).

PCPartpicker is incorrect, it's standard on any PSU these days, perhaps you'd configured an older version?

So you're saying the Corsair TXM does have the additional 4-pin ATX power connector? I configured the "Cobalt Ultra" on PCSpecialist and there is only 1 version of it there unless you're talking about PCPartPicker

What’s the cobalt ultra? Ah sorry, a pre config.

Yes I meant on pcpartpicker, it may have referenced an older model of the txm

Ok so final question... if the Corsair 750W TXm does have the additional 4-pin ATX power connector and works, is it still worth getting the 750RMx assuming that also works (Just as a 2nd opinion.. the difference is only £9)

Personally I’d say definitely, the RMx is a far superior PSU, it’s semi passive so fans only kick in when under load so very quiet.

I would stress though, there’s not much point on getting advice on individual components as they all interrelate, if you post your full specs we can advise properly.

What monitor are you pairing it with, what resolution and refresh rate or make and model if you’re unsure?

There are so many reasons why that build doesn't make any sense:

So the entire build doesn't make sense because of the monitors I have which I can upgrade at any time?
