My thinking is you can always pop some more ram in later if needed, it wont be. Same for the HDD, just a basic 500GB model to start off with.
When the floods are all sorted etc HDD prices will fall again as the output from Thailand recovers and you can always expand on the storage.
At the minute, the only way to get it down any further without really compromising is to source windows from elsewhere bringing it to £705
