Random frame drops

Hey guys, when playing random games, league of legends, valorant, csgo etc. Every so often i seem to drop to single digit frames. this causes what i can only describe as a lag spike/screen tare. then the frames return to normal.

is there something i can do to fix this?

3080 doesn’t scale well at all to 1080p but even with unavoidable frame drops you shouldn’t be getting screen tearing with VRR.

Are you sure you’ve enabled freesync on the driver?

When you say lagging, what are the actual FPS we’re talking about? Or is it a latency issue? If so what’s the ping rate?

We need more conclusive symptoms to work off.

Is this always when playing online?

What AV are you using?

do you have any VPN connected?

i dont think this is an internet issue. it's the computer and software freezing even when im not online.

im using kaspersky and dont have a vpn

Open task manager and sort by CPU and see if anything is using resources at the times this happens.
