RANDOM LAG/STUTTERING

Hello, I got my new pc a couple of weeks ago but I have been getting lags/stuttering ever since. The issue is only noticeable while I am playing a game or watching something, the video or game and sound get slow/laggy for about 2-3 seconds at random times throughout the day. The games I play are not heavy and the issue happens even when I'm just watching something on Youtube and I don't have multiple tabs running at the same time. I have already tried installing the latest nvidia drivers but it's still happening. Does anyone know what the issue could be? Thank you in advance!

The monitor I currently use is a: AOC E2470Sw Led 23.6" (59.8cm), (1920 X 1080 @ 60HZ refresh rate) and uses a dvi to hdmi adaptor.

Which nVidia drivers are you using? Creative or Gaming?

Which games have you tried and how are they installed ie. through a games client? Which one?

Can you upload a screenshot of your windows update page?

The 3080 is not going to pair well with a 1080p monitor, it's doesn't scale down that low very well, I would strongly recommend investing in a decent primary gaming monitor. But that's beside the point in this instance.

Hi @SpyderTracks, thanks for your reply. I attached an image of the drivers I installed and the updates page. I have only played Kakarot which was installed through Steam.

That's good with the GPU driver, nvidia themselves recommend if it's a render station that's being used for any gaming, so use the game ready driver rather than creator, so you made the right choice there.

Your windows isn't up to date, so not configured yet.

You'll need to install all the optional drivers which will be driver updates.

Also once you've installed those, manually install the AMD chipset as windows is prone to installing the incorrect version.

Then we'll test again and see what we can see.

Thanks, I installed all updates and the AMD chipset. Now I guess I'll just wait to see if it happens again.
May be worth installing HWMonitor and just monitoring temps while you're gaming or loading the CPU, just to make sure there's nothing amiss:

A DVI to HDMI adapter, that sounds nasty, thats not ging to help at all.

I agree, a new monitor is the best bet here, it may not be the cause of your issue but may well be a contributing factor.

Hi Michael,

Did you ever solve your issue, we recently recieved ours from PCS and we have an almost identical spec apart from the amount of ram and we are having pretty much the same issue and have been for a while. I have tried Far Cry 6 and Battlefield 2042 and both have stutters especially during intensive graphical scenes during gameplay. VR is also a big issue with lag/stutters almost unplayable for the most part. Windows fresh install, no rgb or monitoring software. Updated drivers, updated windows, latest bios so PCS have told me, latest Amd chipset. Msi gaming monitor 2k. Still no luck on the 2 games i have tried. Im about to try some more older games see how they go.

Hi there, have you disabled game mode from the Windows Settings? Also have a go at disabling GPU scheduling too as this doesn't seem mature enough yet or Windows being simply too buggy at the moment.

Hi Esa, sorry to hear that you're having a similar problem. Unfortunately, I still have the issue, I had to return the computer to PCSPECIALIST 3 times, they even replaced the core components but nothing changed.
