Need a little more info to give some proper advice. Have a little read through the following to get some insight into what we would need :)

  • Poor case choice, I'd look for one with better airflow like Corsair 4000D or Lian Li
  • The 5800X has a rep for running hot, so I'd look to up the cooling to an AIO such as the CORSAIR H100X or H100i
  • If you go with the AIO, you can ditch the Artic paste as they come prepasted
  • If you're going to add your own 3080, I'd be upping the PSU to 850W min, preferably 1000W for more headroom and efficient running
  • HDDs are noisy, so if you need large storage space fine, otherwise I'd go with a fast Gen4 SSD for Windows/Boot and a larger Gen3 SSD for games (500MG and 1GB say)

Sorry to say this, but you're not going to be doing any justice to that poor 3080, paring it with that 1080p monitor...
3080 + 1080p = NOPE.jpg

Unless you're going to be upgrading the monitor (asap) to something that a 3080 deserve's...
3080 + 4K = Yes, 3080 + 1080p = Nope.jpg

Here's two monitor i can recommend for a 3080...

Curry's.co.uk - Gigabyte M32U

or if that's too much or too big, the same model just a smaller screen size...

Curry's.co.uk - Gigabyte M28U

As far as i'm concerned, 1080p is obsolete and anyone that orders a 3080 or higher or the newer upcoming RTX 4000 series card, should no longer be using any sort of 1080p monitor, outside of pro gamer's competing in big money prize pool gaming tournaments.

I do plan on upgrading the monitor to one that is 4k later in the year. I have a second monitor thats only 60hz and thats been causing me issues with my sanity. Im not 100% sure what my budget would be come the time i can upgrade, probably closer to christmas. Is there decent lower budget options for 4k monitors around?

I'll definitely see about fixing these things up, cheers!

At the moment, the cheapest 4k 144Hz panels are around £600
