Recoil 16 inch white screen of death, manual fix. Intel I13 issue.... I think.

I noticed that when playing intensive games like CIV 6, Starfield and Battle field 5 I would get the white screen of death. This is a reported issue on intel i9 13 series and 14 series processors. Unfortunately for laptop users intel is referring us back to the manufacturer for a fix. At the moment I don't see any fixes published by PC specialist.

The way I have found to fix the issue is to limit the temperature to 90' in control centre and to use the water cooler whilst gaming.

I am curious has anyone else had problems with the Intel 13 series i9s? how did you overcome the problem or are you still looking for a fix? what sort of performance drops did you get?

The BSOD Doctor
The fix is a couple of microcode updates that are shipped in BIOS updates. Contact PCS and ask whether (or when) these BIOS updates will be available for your build. The microcode updates you want are x125 and x129.

AFAIK the microcode updates are only for desktop cpus currently.

Intel haven’t acknowledged an issue on laptop cpus as yet even though reports are steadily increasing feom users and professionals, and they’re exactly the same cpus anyway (the 13900hx is the same as the 14900hx which is the same as the 13900k which is the same as the 14900k)

If limiting temperature fixes it though, what temps are you reaching normally? It could just be that it’s needing a repaste
