Recoil IV Webcam position

Hello there,

So the webcam for this laptop is build in to the screen like all laptops, but it is right near my keyboard. Its less than 2cm's height from my keyboard. So when I'm on skype/zoom, the camera view is looking up at face. I find this very strange/unprofessional when I'm in picture and I use my phone instead to Skype/zoom.

Boggles my brain why anyone would design a laptop with the camera that low looking upwards. Surely its meant to go at the top? I had a thought that the screen frame (with webcam) was installed upside down? However I can't see that getting past quality control though, as I know PC Specialist do an amazing job.

Besides this very happy, no other issues.

Can anyone please let me know if there Recoil IV is the same?

Many thanks.

Screens these days have such small bezels that you can't fit the camera in the screen anymore, you'll see a lot of manufacturers of thinner laptops now place it in the keyboard so would be even lower. Just the way things are going.

True dell started the low camera. Iew, but they have now got a super tiny one at the top again on the new XPS models, pretty impressive, but webcams are always such garbage quality I can never bring myself to using them. That's why Canon shipped the 'webcam' drivers for their Eos camera's 😉

Many thanks for the information guys, it is a minor thing just wanted to double check.

If you want to use it regularly do yourself a favour and get a decent webcam, if it's every blue moon, I can live with it below screen, one of my dell ones had it and used to not be too bad.
