OK The Medium - not played long as only came online at 4, but:

- graphically looks very good.
- music and appearance and vibrations on the xbox controller (PC) make a good atmosphere

negative so far:
- it chooses the camera position for you - cant see how to scroll it around and not sure you can.

Will update more later when played a bit longer but havent got time at moment now to play any more as got some emails to answer lol damn work getting in the way..

I think I read somewhere that they went for the same fixed camera thing that was used in the earlier Resident Evil games. 🤔

Good to know! My PC arrives tomorrow and as soon as I finish work I'm going to start playing the game once I've plugged it all in 😅
I'll have to see how I get on with the fixed camera angle.

OK - only had chance for about 60 minutes play so far. I'm not absolutely taken with it but will be going back to continue the game at some point.

Good points
- graphics - very good looking game and not even on full settings
- atmosphere - with subtle background music changes, graphics, voiceovers, and the odd clip here and there in addition to the odd vibrating controller, I will say that I have had some of those nerve tingling moments (will not spoil game in anyway so will not be describing anything).
- story - starting to develop...more so after the subtle tutorial of walking around the house / funeral home - and your initial split screen moment.
-split screen - not encountered it too much yet, but seems to have been done well in a way that the 'medium' role starts to play out.

Not so sure point
- camera angles - going to take a bit of getting used to not being able to flip things around to how you want to look at it - in particular when looking around for things - very cinematic / TV production feel to it but does enable the artists to home in the detail of where you are heading i think.

Cons
- linear play. whilst the story is developing and seems good, the actual play style seems to be quite linear - as in you have to walk down this lane and there is no other choice / way of going - no 'free' wandering at the moment and other than the odd interaction with items to fullfil some of the tasks there isnt a lot else to do - no sense yet that any decisions you are going to make are going to be fatal to you. Dont get me wrong, Im quite gripped at the moment, but hoping that things develop in this front where choices start to make differences - bear in mind I am only an hour in.

Conclusion.
Would like it to develop a little quicker into the choices you make could result in fatal consequences, otherwise it will just be a play out the story/film type game.

Overall though, quite a pleasing but nerve tingling experience so far.

Certainly recommend giving it a trial run if you can, or if you have xBox gamepass its worth a load up. Not sure how much it cost as got it on gamepass. I reserve judgement on whether i would pay 40 quid for it yet though.

I'll be playing it tonight so I'll see what I think. Good points though, I think I'll probably enjoy it as I'm a fan of story driven kinda games like that. Will see what I think!

I picked it up cheaper on CD keys at a pre-release price so it was £10 cheaper than full price which wasn't too bad. Game pass is a good shout, I probably should get my 3 months for £1!

Telltale games, like Walking Dead? If you are into Zombies of course. Quite a popular series if you like a story driven game. Not that it is my kind of thing though.

Why do we not have a thumbs down button? :p

I like the look of those games so may have to give those a try. Good thing we are in continual lockdowns here as I'd never have enough time to play all these 😂

Yeah... but way I see it, Covid is telling you to get a new PC "buy one, you know you want to... imagine all that free time used up by testing your new PC out on all those lovely new games... go on buy one".....

I fought that feeling off for a few weeks, but it sadly got the better of me in the end. :)

I've bought a laptop and upgraded the desktop during Covid, it sure is a terrible thing with all sorts of symptons

I'm quite sure that the walking dead games by telltale are not available for sale anymore? I tried to buy them on steam a while back and couldn't. You can still buy the batman & joker series though, and I highly recommend it.

That I wasn't aware of... my kids play them and I've never really caught that bug.

I knew the stopped making them the walking dead series, but surprised they have removed the option to buy.

They are on sale again - https://store.steampowered.com/app/1449690/The_Walking_Dead_The_Telltale_Definitive_Series/ - but as a complete collection. They were removed from sale when Telltale Games went bust, but the publisher of the final season in the game took over development and they went back on sale some time around the launch of the final part.

Thanks for clarifying that. It's been a while since I last tried to buy them (around a year ago?), so good to know they're back!

Ok so my review of The Medium so far. Incredibly jumpy/creepy, I've had to take a break as I thought I was going to have a heart attack out of fear at one point :ROFLMAO: . I highly recommend playing it with a headset on. I'm enjoying the cinematic playthrough style, the story is good and atmospheric. Soundtrack is ace....
