haha yes you can definitely die in the game. It can happen a lot if you take the wrong turning at certain points even. I'm about 6 hours into the game and it's great.

System Shock 2 is probably my all time favourite game, so a remake of the original and a sequel to the series is something I'm very much into!
And that dedication has finally paid off; the project is set to cross over the finish line "late summer" this year, and pre-orders for the game - which will include a copy of the upcoming System Shock 2: Enhanced Edition for all early buyers - go live today on Steam, GOG, and the Epic Store. It'll cost £31.99/$44.95 USD, and those eager to learn more ahead of a purchase can check out the newly released demo, available on each storefront.
well good news for you system shock 2 enhanced edition :D with vr support and co-op play :D

I don't normally pre-order as I've been burnt way too many times, but a free copy of System Shock 2 Enhanced Edition for pre-ordering the System Shock remake? I'm going to have to give the demo a go and have a think about it. 🤔

Have had a bit of a play of the System Shock remake. Definitely think I'm going to be buying it. Obviously the original game inspired Bioshock as a spiritual successor and that kind of vibe is very clear in this remake. Also a definite Alien: Isolation vibe with the cramped corridors and all that fun horror stuff.
