Are you suggestings I shouldn't get the 20gb cache drive..?

How about, I remove the 20gb ssd, and instead I chose 80gb ssd, and 1TB caviar black?

Now, How would I be able to install windows 7, softwares, and applications on the ssd drive, and how would I use the 1TB caviar black for movies and games?
Or do you recommend me get a 160gb ssd, without another hard drives?

Or would 160gb be too little for the amount of games/ movies/ softwares I will install?

How much hard drive space would a normal game now need? (BF3, UPCOMING GTA V)

Finally, is 7950 future proof, or do you think I should invest £70 more on 7970 because it will be more future proof, and then if I need to in the very future, I could overclock the whole system, or add another 7970, or mabye overclock and new gpu?
Or would the 7950 do, because I could overclock that and add another 7950?

How much difference does it really make?

Ok, doesn't sound too bad, but I really need the hdmi cable because I won't use my own speakers, but the monitors.. (it saves desk space)

I upgraded the psu, for if I want to add another gpu or overclock it many years later.. (btw what do you think: should I invest £70 more in 7970?)

I upgraded the case then, and the motherboard (Although I don't really think it would matter since I went over the specification and the upgraded MoBO is better if I used Nvidia, but im not, and to pay £57 is a little too much for a few more usb 3 ports.. Although I respect your opinion and therefore will take it.)

I would get at least a tb of hdd space, 2tb would be better. I have put 2tb seagate barracuda which isn't as good as the caviar black but it is close and does have twice the amount of space and it isn't a bad drive. I would not recommend o/cing, you will need a better cpu cooler if you wanted to. I would add another 7950 in the future though. I think this spec will be the best suited to you:

For cooling and cable management, mainly cooling. Fair enough on the cable. I would stick with the 7950. The mobo I chose has a lot more features and is generally slightly better, however, drop this if you want to save money.

two 7950 along with that above specification would require 625W, therefore I won't need the 750W..

Also, the exact same as above, is actually £1597, which is too much.

I'm sticking with 7950 then, and the MoBo you chose.

Can you tell me how can I choose in which hard drive I want to install a software (Windows 7 or games)

Now, how do I choose on which hard drive I want to install anything?

Music Guy123

Prolific Poster
Well, when you install windows, you put the CD in, go into the bios and boot from the CD. Then when it asks you which partition you want it installed on, choose your SSD. For other things, when you install them, they will give you a location of where to install them, just choose either the HDD or the SSD. I would put boot programs, most frequently used programs, OS and maybe a game or two on the SSD. I would put everything else on the HDD Does this make sense? Sorry about missing the HDMI, you posted whilst I was putting the spec together so I missed it at the time. I would try and upgrade the psu to a 750w, there is nothing worse than running out of power, it is a nightmare! however, if you can't afford it don't worry.

Also, sorry for being a pain but I am a little confused about what you meant in the second line of post #26

OK, if I choose the ssd when I install windows, would it automatically install all the bios and OS on the ssd, or would I need to do something else to put the bios in the ssd..

I meant, that the spec which you posted was actually £1597, and not £1557...

Well ideally yes an SSD would be a better idea along with a normal HDD. You need can choose where to install W7 in when you're setting it up, to makes things easier though select the SSD before the HDD in the configurator. For applications and other things you just need to choose the correct directory, as far as I know you can't set certain file types to save on certain disks automatically in Windows 7 but manually selecting directories isn't very confusing. Games can vary quite a lot in the amount of space they require but just as a reference point my Starcraft 2 folder is 10GB. In terms of the HD7950, it's set for the future with 3GB of VRAM and while the HD7970 would provide you with more performance I wouldn't worry about it.

I think you need to decide for yourself how much you want to spend, we can't tell you if you'll have enough self control to stop playing games and study etc.

It is the blu-ray drive which I must have missed out in my spec. That is why it is cheaper.

Thanks for all the rep though!

ya spec on post 33 looks really good!!!! although i'd drop the hdmi lead as the IIyama comes with a dvi cable, unless you need the hdmi lead for another monitor?

Now go buy it!!!!! hahah

No, but the monitor has own speakers, and I won't use my old speakers..
The HDMI, allows me to use the monitors speakers, and the dvi cable won't..
