Currently been waiting 19 working days and still stuck on the Pre-Production stage.

Hoping the building stage will start soon 😅

@KatSne how's your waiting going btw? ;)
So for my PC journey, in the end, I actually managed to source a GPU card myself at RRP (FE too)!

This meant at 21 working days I amended my PCS order and therefore left the GPU queue, and my PC went into building yesterday at 22 working days.

I still have my fingers crossed for you all 🤞

Nice, where did you manage to source the GPU from? 🙂

I updated my GPU to the TUF Gaming 3070, I read good reviews and when I proceeded with the sub order it said the item was in stock. It shows as in stock now on the configurator, not a pre-order item. I assumed this would speed up the order, meaning it would be out of the GPU queue and into the build queue quicker. I am still in pre-production on 15 working days, 6 days after updating to an in-stock item.

I spoke to support over message and they are telling me it is a wait of 2-3 months for the 3070 even though I have mentioned I updated my order to an in stock GPU and the TUF Gaming 3070 shows in stock now as we speak. I spoke to someone on the phone and they mentioned to me that my order was only waiting on a 512GB M.2 card to come back in stock so I am getting mixed messages. Support are not filling me with confidence.

I am not sure whether the configurator is wrong or the tech support are confusing matters with lack of knowledge. My experience of support has been poor.

Can anybody shed any light? :)

It might be in stock on the configurator but there could be 1000 people in front of your waiting for a 3070. generally it shows in stock when they have secured a batch of cards for order so they can begin to sell them again.

Whether it's currently in stock or not though there is till a queue that you will be in

It’s also worth pointing out that PCS is currently stating their current build time at 16 to 19 working days. Now that stock is generally improving they are going to be working around the clock building PCs so it is much less likely that we will see 10WD 3070 builds like we did earlier in the year.
Have faith, your PC will go into build soon (as will mine too hopefully! 🙂)

So when I paid for my in stock item I didn't secure it? That doesn't seem fair. I thought you were only put in a GPU queue for pre-ordered GPU's.

When you pay for your items you are reserving them. Builds are done in order of purchase, so people who have been waiting longer will have their desktops built first. If there are no orders in front of you that have all their parts in stock you will then go into build. You have been waiting 15 working days for your PC, some people have been waiting over 100 for 3080s. If their parts are in stock they will have their PCs built first.

I agree with you on that, but we can notice that building are not even done at 21wdays for many ppl, I think waiting times are getting bigger and bigger day by day, for some reason.
This, plus the fact that support is telling everyone a 2 month waiting, which is an insane increase when 3 weeks ago ppl got their GPU around 10wdays!

And tbh, showing that you have stocks (for people who already bought) to people who will buy is not really honest, there's a misconception of the "stock" definition here.

It doesn’t say they have stocks, they’re clearly marked as pre order.

It's written in French here, on the right for the two last lines it's written ("pre order only"), but nothing for the first, as it's the GPU that @Rob21 ordered a week ago.

Not sure if this is much help but I switched to a 3070ti when there was only a little difference between that and the 3070. Initially support told me the wait was expected to be 3 months but when I said I might downgrade again then because I thought the ti would be quicker seeing as it wasn't marked pre-order they double checked and said they estimated two weeks! I don't know if it will be the same for yourself but here's hoping!

Yes, this is what I am trying to point out, I tried to take a snippet but I wasn't able to do it. :)

The TUF Gaming 3070 is marked as in stock (no pre-order next to it and not greyed out). When I paid for it on my sub order (changed after initial order) the website had a glowing green circle and marked in stock on the proceed confirmation page. This is one of the reasons I decided to pay the extra money for the card, to secure it. I spoke with support with my concern that if they only have 5 in stock but there is 6 people waiting in the queue for that card that means I have purchased an out of stock card as it gets to me and could delay me further then being in the original 3070 queue meaning there would be no point in me paying extra for the TUF card if this was the case. I was told this won't happen.

I would of assumed there will be a stock number system added to the items like with most online shopping. If they have 5 in stock they will take 5 orders and then show as out of stock or pre-order only item.

After a week of updating my order to an in stock GPU I am being told I am still in the "print queue" and waiting for parts to be assigned. I understand being in the build queue but being in the print queue I don't.

I managed to source one from Scan

They just so happened to get FE stock last Friday, so I was really lucky to get one.
Still contemplating on doing the same as I have also been waiting 21 working days and still have not reached the building stage as of yet.

Never used Scan before, would you recommend them?

Thanks :)

Recommendations for online retailers other than PC Specialist are not permitted on these forums I'm afraid.

Today the TUF Gaming 3070 is now greyed out, meaning no stock. It says ETA of 15/07. My build is still in pre-production (16 Days). This was my question/concern. As I paid for the item when it showed as in stock, does that mean that I have been assigned one and it is sitting there on the shelf with my name on it even though the config now shows as no stock. Or will I have to wait for the new batch to arrive. Speaking with support this morning it seems I would be better to go back to the original 3070 I placed order with as the parts are not "assigned" until building and they get more stock of the normal 3070 over the TUF Gaming version. I am so confused by the process and support give mixed answers. I have decided to go back to the original 3070, saving the money on the TUF Gaming one, crossing my fingers and trying to have faith that I have made the correct decision. Here's to hoping :)

No. Its not true that items are 'reserved' for you when you order. Your name isn't put on anything until you come to the top of the build queue and your items are picked.

This is because people can change their order anytime before it goes into building, so an item that was in stock when you order may be used up by people ahead of you in the queue switching to it.
