R/Choosingbeggars is full of such stories. Problem is there are actually very few 'influencers' that get things for free.

Personally I have no problem paying for something and reviewing it, I actually did this once on a chinese camera I got to use with a motorcycle, I posted a review on the product page praising its good points but then listed some issues it had thinking nothing more of it.
The company replied to the review asked me to email them, which i did, and said they thank me for the honest review, they have released a newer edition which fixes my issues and could I provide my address so they could send it to me and I update my review if it indeed was better.

Sometimes it pays just to be honest.

So, I am late to the ordering PARRRRTY for a 3080. My order went in on the 15-Oct-20
According to the email it's due 29-OCT-20. However it is in pre production (I understand the emails are robotic and there is a huge shortage of 3080's), so I am ok with it arriving nov / dec.….

However. 3070 and Big Navi - I'm not overly concerned on which card I get. The 3080 would be nice. However, if the 3070 will get me a build this year. I'm good with that. So question of which I suspect no one knows.

Do I stick with the 3080 build. It comes when it comes.
Or, when the option arises to change....change the order to a 3070 or Big Navi? On the assumption there 'maybe' more stock?

Worse things happening in the world.....

**EDIT** - Just wondering. Who makes the 3080 that PCS install?

Only you can answer those questions. I haven't seen any benchmarks for the 3070.
I believe the 3080 that PCS install are Palit, I've ordered a ROG Strix so obviously thats Asus.

Also I ordered on October 7th and my build is estimated for Friday so I'll let you know if it changes.
If it goes on beyond November I may upgrade the CPU.

Normally Palit or Zotac, but PCS are sourcing whatever brands are available to meet orders, so it could be from another manufacturer.

I've just realised that I've fallen into that trap. When ordering my monitor 5 or 6 weeks ago, I noticed there were a few Asus monitors that were G-Sync and Freesync compatible, but misread the model number and thought I'd ordered one of those. I haven't, so my Big Navi plans are over and I'm in the 3080 queue for the long haul. C'est la vie!

It will be interesting to see if you get these as the system states, there appears to be a number of us who ordered in the first 30mins of release who haven't had such information, i myself only ordered the 3080 unit, no PC build time required!

How long after you changed your case yesterday did the build start? Chatted to PCS this morning and was told I have a 3080 allocated and to expect my build to start today / asap. I had the same case issue and changed same as you.

A couple of hours.

edit* I was a little surprised how quickly it went through testing to being ready for dispatch. Certainly not complaining though
