I ordered my 3080 build on Tuesday so only starting the clock now. It's in the hands of the gods.

Thats strange i ordered mine 20th of September havent recieved it so its weird that they would say they have already started dispatching for early october

Wouldn't surprise me that its the PSU's that are holding up orders.
Before mine went into testing last week I was debating to swap out the 850w psu ( I hadn't got an email at any point in regards to it being out of stock).
Even when I selected another psu in the amend order that wasn't greyed out when you got to the paying stage the psu would have a orange circle meaning they have stock but there are more orders than actual stock so everyone swapping to 1000w psu's could still not actually have one allocated even if its showing in stock, if that makes sense.

I’m same and I switched the PSU to the ASUS 850W. Not ideal as it is overpriced, but seems that the 1000W Corsair RMx is in high demand. PCS changed my PSU to ASUS when I changed the processor. Initially had Corsair 850W, changed to 1000W then the ASUS came in.
Is the coraisr 1000w RMx out of stock now??

Well the 850w IS out of stock, until some time in december was supposed to be 27th november. However I have heard /read nothing of the 1000w variant, thought you might of giving what you wrote.
I changed to 1000w RMx yesterday and went into building about an hour later haha so i hope they do have stock!!!

I know it’s the ROG STRIX 3080 and the AMD 5900X that I’m waiting on.

I was in the office yesterday when the pre-production manager came in to request a stock notification email on the 850W RMX PSUs.
Unfortunately we had been confident with an ETA that the supplier had given us, this turned out to incorrect and lead times for ordering the RMX 850 is now in the region of 4 months! It is complete madness and we apologise for any disruptions to orders.
As you can imagine all of our purchasing colleagues are seeking stock in the channels but most are coming up dry, this is likely due to the requirement of a higher wattage PSU from early findings with the 3080 and 3090 GPUs.
As of right now the stock numbers are as follows.

Can't we just put 2 x 550W PSUs in, instead of a single 1000w PSU - might help with your surplus of these lower-powered models
Although I am surprised it's the AX model of the 1000w that's oversold - unless this was driven by a previous "quickly everyone change your PSU" email?

Knowing how much faith customers are putting in to PCSpecalist at this moment in time it is best to check in with the forum from time to time, hopefully it will become a more frequent thing for me.

Having previously purchased my last laptop from PCS that was also delayed due to the mSATA SSD being out of stock, I have faith in the company. That laptop is still going strong nearly 7 years on and runs like the day it was purchased. Never had a computer last so long without something going wrong.
My new desktop will be worth the wait, not PCS’ fault that the world is in a crap situation.

I genuinely don't think it's possible to overstate how helpful this post is to all those waiting on builds with these PSUs. What's been so frustrating to most posters has been the lack of any concrete information. It's much easier to wait if you know why you're waiting.
More of the please and on the waitlists on other hard to get components. They help immeasurably.

I've got an old Corsair CX430M PSU here.
It has the 'bypass' wire fitted to let it power-up without a PC attached, and it was only used to provide power to new GPU in an ageing MacPro when that couldn't provide enough power from the motherboard. It was a bit Heath Robinson.
I think the post about the PSU and a similar one in the 3070 are really helpful for us - Obvs question now is....what is the status of the 3080 and 6800xt etc. I understand this can lead to the 'but where are we in the queue' but I think factual information of where the big ticket items are, would be good for us politely waiting. Thank you again!
