How much did it cost you?

Also for anyone who knows, can you get your own 3080 when you've ordered a liquid series build? Do you have to send them the card? I'm not sure how it works

I also managed to get my own 3080 FE at RRP :). I will now be leaving the que myself I hope you all good luck and hope the stock improves any advice for installing my own graphics card into a pre built system from PC specialist as this will be my first time doing this. I think I will give them a call on Monday before I take it out and ask some questions about it all. I was only a puppy at 34 working days but to everyone I hope you get your build very soon :D

Production has to ramp up but unfortunately crypto mining farms seem to be first in the queue for this card, not with PCS I must stress. You can do your own homework but some of the pictures are shocking of ‘set ups’ they’ve got. Hundreds upon hundreds of 3080s.

I have no idea how they're even getting these cards

I'm on stock informer myself and there hasn't been a new 3080 on any retailer for like a month now it's ridiculous

Nvidia are bringing out dedicated hardware for mining so hopefully will be pointless and not the most cost affective way for future miners to buy gaming gpu,s

I’ve read that they (crypto mining people) are approaching nvidia resellers directly with bag fulls of literal cash as ‘bungs’ to bump down certain orders and move theirs up the queue.

Let’s play a hypothetical scenario. Say PCS have been assured 250 cards for end of Feb but end up getting 15 with a ‘sorry, we just didn’t get the stock’ excuse with the other 235 going to some crypto farm.

Sounds farcical doesn’t it?

i mean its hypothetical but it's business at the end of the day so this sort of thing is believable..

i don't imagine many companies would turn down £250,000 in business.

Ah yeah, but that’s the rub. Your totally correct nobody is turning down £250,000 worth of orders but when you can potentially make a little on the side for yourself by knocking a couple of orders down the page... only needs one bad apple.

Please note I’m not suggesting PCS or their vendors have anything to do with this before I’m accused of being slanderous.

I can’t imagine any reputable business would risk doing it, as I can imagine Nvidia would try to hit them with all sorts of penalties and fines. Not to mention if a company was found to be doing this just imagine how their reputation would be impacted.

As for bad apples within a company doing this, yes it is possible, but due to the shortages I can imagine orders are regularly checked/audited to ensure no priority is given where it doesn’t follow that companies normal process and procedure.

That is rough going. I have just spoken with PC Specialist on the phone, as I had an issue with my order. When I said I had ordered on the 20th October, the guy was quite surprised as he said, the last he had heard, was that orders for mid-October were still being processed. I do not have a 5000 series CPU in mine though, so that may be why. Really hoping it's soon for you.

well 3080 forum, as an expectant father i can report the arrival of a new wonderful 3080 system this morning 9:45, baby arrived ok with no problems, but the large dent a rip in outer box did give some cause for concern, but was intact when opened . he arrived very cold into this warm house so will give him some time to acclimatise to his new surroundings. pic will follow if required. i would like to say it has been fun spending the last 96 days reading this forum as we all wait for our new arrivals but it was usually not. it seems apt in these stressed times to read a forum filled with stressed comments
