They are higher performance, not lower prices. The 2000 series will never be a better buy than the 3000 series as the prices won't go low enough to justify the lower performance, and eventually just run out of stock. Just buy a 3000 series when they come out. I would wait until the proper reviews come out though i.e. Gamer's Nexus/ Linus etc.

Have a look at the 1000 series GPU's to get an idea of how little they drop in price.

PCS won't have many stocks anyway, so they'll probably return unused stocks to their supplier or sell them on to a store.

Ive only just heard about the news on 3000 series. Im going to be looking at buying a new laptop around November / December when i return to the UK.

Is it likely laptops will have 3000 series by then. Perhaps someone might know a bit more than I do?

Last time i brought my laptop, I had the GTX980 and the 1000 series came out not long after I purchased. I want to avoid missing out on a potential upgrade if possible.

Usually laptop GPU’s follow about 6 months after desktop releases, normally around March of the following year.

The 2000 series is ok for laptops, for 1080p playing is more than enough. Who is gaming at 4k on a laptop?? If you want to play at 4k at 100fps as they admited then buy full desktop machine. There will be maybe 15% boost to 2000 series in laptops department. Thats nothing!
