So iv gone and ordered the " 17.3" OPTIMUS PRO XI "

It looks good but the more I look into this the more I'm getting scared !

So I have just the standard thermal paste ordered as I missed the option, this is not a problem as I can put my own on but can anyone tell me if this is any good without the optional ?

I've seen people saying that the mouse track pad is not good at all can someone confirm ?

I know the battery is not very big and that doesn't bother me .

I've heard people saying the screen isn't very good either its too dark ?

I kind of was so exited to get it but now a little scared so if you guys have one let me know what's going on, Do I need to make a phone call and get the thermal paste put on ? or is standard alright .. is the laptop just a generic shell or is it a decent laptop as I think the money these are selling for they should be half decent !

This post makes it look like I'm trying to make the laptop look bad but I just want someone with this laptop to answer the questions I have here so I can put my mind at rest or get a refund before it gets too late lol ! That was a joke of course but I just hope this is a best.

I would get the thermal paste added mate. You can do this from your order screen on the website.

*edit* also don't worry about your laptop choice i personally haven't seen an abundance of problems coming from the optimus community. If you do have a problem PCS customer care is extremely good.

Ok so I've made some changes to reflect my worries lol !

Don't see the point in having anymore than 16gb of ram, the system will be more than good enough for what i need just hope it isn't going to be getting overheated !

I wouldn't worry about thermals mate that's a pretty modest spec. It will get warm but nothing like you would see in an intel rtx 2070/80 combo.

If the GPU is the cause of your thermal issues, undervolt using MSI Afterburner is always an option, with the caveat of losing a little bit of performance. There are plenty of tutorials on youtube about how to do it ;)

Undervolting that CPU is not possible yet (from what I know), but hopefully Ryzen Master will support it in the future.

Correct, Ryzen Master currently doesn’t support mobile CPU architecture
