Hello all.

I have had the unfortunate event of my laptop stuck in automatic repair mode which lead me to reinstall windows. I have downloaded all my drivers via the recovery CD supplied. My screen brightness is now stuck on the max and it will not adjust. When i first got the laptop this used to regular occurrence and now i cant remember how this was rectified. Please can anyone help?

If you’re running the latest Windows build then check under action centre for a brightness slider.

Hello. I have had a look at this makes no difference. Also in control centre it used to recognise the GPU make and now it doesnt.

Did you install nvidia drivers direct from nvidia?

You don't use the drivers on the recovery CD as they will be out of date, let windows update install all drivers, then just install nvidia direct from nvidia.

Hello

The control centre is installed. I have taken the drivers sent from tech support however, the fault still remains. I did have this issue when i first got the laptop and if i remember right, there was a coms issue between windows and the control centre.

You don’t use the drivers from your downloads section as they’ll be out of date. I’d suggest a clean install, let windows update install all drivers, then manually install nvidia from nvidia and control center from downloads.
