hey guys,

who do pc specialist use for shipping? ive got a tracking number but cant seem to find the company used

They use DPD.
You should receive an email (and a text message as well if you've given them a mobile number) with a link to the tracking for it.
If it's been dispatched today I wouldn't expect it to show up on DPDs tracking until it's been logged in at DPDs depot - which often isn't til about 6pm (give or take).

Hey. Similar question. I paid for the 3 day fast track. Got a message this morning saying the laptop was dispatched at 9:14am and nothing updated since. Surely they wouldn't say it was dispatched if it wasn't to save refunding the fast track build price would they?

Normally you would expect something from DPD about your delivery, or on your order it would show a DPD tracking link, if it wasn't actually dispatched then you will be refunded the difference between the 3 and 5 day fast track presuming it gets dispatched in the next 2 days (its possible it was in the set to be dispatched but there was a last minute issue with the DPD van for instance which delayed it -- yes this has happened to me before)

If DPD got it today they will email or text or both a one-hour slot when it will be delivered tomorrow.

so my order was dispatched yesterday (no awaiting dispatch) DPD have my track number, and says it will arrive today and yet when I called dpd, they said they haven't even got the package at any of their depots and that PCS still have it? at this rate from my experience once I get my pc I will not be buying here again, I have had no end of problems from PCS.

not be surprised, for the trouble I had they gave me a free one day delivery some reason and they set it as dispatched and DPD has a tracking number yet DPD don't even have the parcel yet?

besides the Halfords bit it has been like that since yesterday morning as shown below in the scr shot. I called dpd this morning who said it is not at any of their depots, yet I called PCS like 10 minutes ago saying that dpd have it? well if that's the case then who has it? dpd or pcs? when I was on the phone to pcs they said its updated this morning that they have started taking it to the depot yet on the scr shot below it hasn't updated that they even have it? I have had no end of problems with pcs and wished I just built it myself now.

ok this is taking the mick, 25 mins ago pcs told me dpd have taken it this morning. yet I just got a text now saying sorry we don't have your parcel and so we are unable to deliver today. PCS are the biggest joke in existence, if it is lost I swear down.

If DPD collected the package this morning (which I think is what you were saying, but I may have misread it) then the chances are the system that sent you the text saying 'we don't have your parcel' just didn't know about the parcel being collected yet, normally the first proper info that DPD system has about your parcel is when its scanned at the first depot it gets to (which may not be til the evening of the day when it's collected) afaik, in which cased there is no need to worry.

If DPD collected it yesterday then you'll need to tell PCS to go chase them and discover what has happened.

which I did and I'm now confused. because this morning PCS said that it has been handed over to DPD, mean while half an hour later a text from DPD saying it cant be today because they haven't received it from PCS? and when I track it right now it just shows the places from my scr shot of the track above

Did they say when it was collected by DPD? Yesterday or today? (yes it makes a difference)

Yes, I can see why it's confusing.
So if we ignore the PCS dispatched date because that doesn't really matter in this case - its the day that DPD collected it that matters.

It sounds like it was collected by DPD today (noting that it was supposed to be yesterday, even DPD thought it should've been yesterday - it's quite possible DPD caused the non-collection issue), now until the package is scanned in at the DPD depot DPD don't really know where it is so that's why the DPD site doesn't have anything useful to say yet.
It may be much later in the day when it is scanned in at the first depot (which more than likely will be Sheffield), in other words it's no great surprise DPD don't think they have it yet, at some point later in the day it should update - though if you look at the screenshot I added you can see it sometimes isn't updated til well in the evening (mine was nearly 8pm by the time DPD properly logged it).

So if it was collected from PCS today it would never be delivered today, it will be delivered on the next working day, which in this case is Monday (Rakk checks to make sure it is actually Friday today).

Hope that makes some kind of sense - though I think I may have repeated myself a few times :)

If it is collected today it will be delivered tomorrow. Don’t see the reason for panicking or saying “PCS is a joke”. If it gets lost which I don’t think is likely it is insured and you are getting a replacement.
