I wouldn't buy either. Both seem badly configured to me. I dislike the motherboard and the memory in your build. I dislike the motherboard, the memory and the graphics card in the PCS one. In both cases I dislike the 7700X choice: the 7700 is a much better option for gaming.

What is your budget? What will you be doing with the PC? What monitor do you have?

Thanks for getting back to me!

The PC is pretty much for gaming only. My monitor is 1080p 144hz. Looking at a budget of £1.8k

Hmm, you're not going to get the best value with that monitor. You're very much in the realm of 1440p with a £1.8k budget. What kind of games do you play?

Here's about the maximum system I could recommend for 1080p gaming. It's honestly overkill in some ways, but it would be exceptional. It would also do a very good job of 1440p if you were able to upgrade the display at some point.

Case
FRACTAL FOCUS 2 ARGB GAMING CASE (BLACK) Good cheap case
Processor (CPU)

AMD Ryzen 7 7700 Eight Core CPU (3.8GHz-5.3GHz/40MB CACHE/AM5) Cooler than the 7700X
Motherboard

ASUS® TUF GAMING B650-PLUS WIFI (DDR5, USB 3.2, 6Gb/s) Good motherboard
Memory (RAM)

32GB Corsair VENGEANCE RGB DDR5 6000MHz (2 x 16GB) Good memory
Graphics Card

12GB AMD RADEON™ RX 6750 XT - HDMI, DP - DX® 12 Overkill graphics card for 1080p, but very good. The 6700XT is only a little behind and about £50 cheaper
1st M.2 SSD Drive

512GB SOLIDIGM P44 PRO GEN 4 M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD (up to 7000MB/sR, 4700MB/sW) Fast boot drive
1st M.2 SSD Drive

2TB SOLIDIGM P41+ GEN 4 M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD (up to 4125MB/sR, 3325MB/sW) Games drive
Power Supply

CORSAIR 850W RMx SERIES™ MODULAR 80 PLUS® GOLD, ULTRA QUIET Plenty of PSU capacity to allow upgrades
Power Cable

1 x 1.5 Metre UK Power Cable (Kettle Lead, 1.0mm Core)
Processor Cooling
DeepCool AG400 Performance ARGB CPU Cooler Enough cooling for the 7700
Thermal Paste

STANDARD THERMAL PASTE FOR SUFFICIENT COOLING
Sound Card
ONBOARD 6 CHANNEL (5.1) HIGH DEF AUDIO (AS STANDARD)
Network Card
ONBOARD 2.5Gbe LAN PORT
USB/Thunderbolt Options
MIN. 2 x USB 3.0 & 2 x USB 2.0 PORTS @ BACK PANEL + MIN. 2 FRONT PORTS

You're awesome! Thank you for taking the time to do this for me.

On my current system I have a gtx 1080 and an i7-8700k. Will the system you listed be a worthy upgrade from what I currently have?

It will be a significant upgrade. I'd wonder if your current system could last a couple of years more with a graphics upgrade, personally.

But the biggest upgrade you could make would involve a new monitor, so I'd definitely suggest thinking about that.

Well the system still runs big games just fine at 1080p.

The reason im looking into moving on is because it started to have system crashes when gaming.

I suspected it was cpu temps however aftwr tracking temperatures, it crashes even when they are in 60Cs. Changed the RAM and PSU but still, when gaming the system will suddenly shut down and them turn itself back on. GPU temps are also very good. 50C/60C when gaming. Ran a system check, it said there were some corrupt files but it fixed them. Dont know what else to try so i thought about moving on since the system is 5 years old.
