Skyblivion PC for Newbie

Hi,

I've never had a Gaming PC in my life, I'm a console player, But I've been following Skyblivion and it sounds great and Oblivion is one of my favourite games and I really want to play it when it releases, It will more than likely be the only game I play, Might play others that would fit the specs, but that's where this thread comes, im looking for a desktop that will play Skyrim medium to high settings at the lowest rate possible, as after I've completed it a couple of times it will just become a PC for everyday use for me and my partner, and the occasional new game I might fancy that come out some years ago, Apparently Skyblivion will be fine to play on if you can run Skyrim on medium settings, Any help will be appreciated as I have no idea what does what and even trying to learn confuses me haha.

Hi ;) What's your total budget and is it for PC only or including a monitor? What monitor you want to get or currently have? If so, what's the size, resolution and refresh rate? Will you do only playing or editing/streaming too?

Hi,

Probably £400-600, if its too much then i'd have to pass and just buy a normal PC for the future, Dont need a monitor so just be the PC, wont be streaming etc be just my chill time.

Literally mainly just for Skyblivion and then normal use as a PC, so if its not do able cause Skyrims Medium to high needs a pretty beefy PC then I'd just have to miss.

At that sort of budget I would probably look at the second hand market on eBay.
As this is forum is owned by PCS we can’t really give you more information than that regarding looking elsewhere.
Alternatively as has been said if you can push budget closer to £1000 we might be able to put something together for you.

What is your current PC, do you have one? to play Skyblivion you will need to purchase the Skyrim Game, so if your current PC and run skyrim, then it will run the mod as well. However I would recommend a PC that can play skyrim at high or ultra settings as the mod does look really nice. Waiting for that myself to.

I agree with MrWIlson, might be better to look for a second hand one, or increase your budget a little more, taking into account the Skyrim Game, the next Elder scrolls 6 and also the other mod - Beyond Skrim.

If you're happy to wait until the game releases it would be probably be best to wait and see what is out closer to the time.
The 3050(ti) graphics cards should be out in the next few months which will likely be the card that you're looking for. Various other advancements are also on the horizon, such as next gen motherboards, DDR5 RAM, and 12th gen Intel which has a slim chance of bringing Intel back on top.
The supply chain should also start to recover by April/May. Covid and more recently Chinese New Year have caused massive disruptions in China and worldwide, and we are still feeling the effects of this in inflated prices and reduced supply of components. When the game comes out in the future it is likely (but sadly not guaranteed) that you will be able to get more bang for your buck then.
