I think it can interfere with auto updates and stuff like that which require a full restart also.....

Also well known to cause networking issues if you don't do a full restart every once in a while. Plus printer issues..... general issues.

I must say these days, you'd wonder what benefits it actually provides....

Causes a litany of potential problems - for no perceivable gain on modern systems. Really just a legacy feature at this stage I guess......

I think that's it exactly, it's just left in from the HDD days.

Next time someone accuses me of destroying winter (sort of like Anna’s other sister in Frozen - the lesser known Asle) I can now say “But what about Windows Fast Startup?” and then sit back and watch them scramble for answers....
