All on a 1080p monitor gaming at 60fps, I think I got a good balance on the CPU/GPU with a power supply that'll last a long time and have room for me to grow. A little shaky on the cooler choice and fans as I'm not overclocking but don't have great ventilation in my room. DVD drive for my old game discs and video I never fiddled with. Comfortable shifting to Win10 over 11 as I'm more familiar with it's pros and cons so far, Memory is well suited to gaming and the CPU choice. Love the case as it's spacious, quiet and cool from every review and friend I've ever asked. Motherboard I....well I don't have a strong grasp of what they can provide so I'm admittedly lost on that one.

Thoughts? Opinions? Favourite midnight snack? Any help is appreciated.

Looks like a pretty good start. Are you going for a particularly quiet build? If not, we could certainly save on the case- the Define 7 is indeed a lovely case but it's rather expensive for the tier of build and really needs an AIO to make the most of it. I'd also play with some other areas. The cooler choice is a solid one for the CPU. Do you think you'd be able to suffice with an external DVD drive? needing a built in DVD drive really limits case choice. Also what's your budget for this system? I'd assume about £1400?

Around £1400 is my budget yeah, not really looking to push that unless it's for something with a lot of life ahead of it. I'm pretty locked in on the DVD drive being part of the case, I really don't have the means or the space to get anything external in this tiny ass room. The case I'm a fan of because of it's cool, quiet nature as well as being spacious and not having tempered glass.....I can't get along with no glass

Interesting, may I ask why I would need a 5600X if I'm just 1080p gaming? Seems like overkill considering the beast that thing can be. Also what's the word on PCS own storage devices? if there's a reliable series of reviews on them I'd be on board.

Gaming at 1080p is actually more CPU intensive than 1440p or 4K- with these higher resolutions, you're more GPU bound meaning the CPU is less utilised, so going for a more powerful CPU is more important at 1080p. Don't get me wrong, the 3600 is still a fantastic CPU, but AMD made massive improvements between the two generations and until 12 gen Intel (which doesn't really fit into this budget) the 5600X was a little gaming powerhouse.

I see, not great info on the SSDs but I'll keep them in mind. Now regarding the CPU I think it's worth mentioning I am really not gonna be touching most modern games with the most intensive game I'd play is something like....Ghostrunner. Do you think the investment in the 5600X is going to be worth it? Don't want to spend money on something I'm not getting it's full juice out of after all.

Big case that I grow into with some strong CPU/GPU combo and cooling in like 4-7 years, along with a PSU with plenty of wiggle room. Motherboard has potential and the network card with Bluetooth would suit me in the long run. Gonna take advantage of those NVMe offers while they're here(if anybody knows when such an offer might disappear that'd be just super) all wrapped up in some Windows 10 for comfort. Unless somebody tells me it's gonna explode or fight my cat I think I'll take the dive on this on Wednesday after me money comes in.

Just to put it into perspective, the 3600 was released in July 2019, so it's already 2 1/2 years old.

Even the 5000 series CPU's are right at the end of their tenure with the refresh hitting next month.

It's not a good idea to put old tech in a new PC, it severely lessens the lifetime of the system with next to no financial savings for how much you're losing in performance and longevity.
