So I am going to be patient re the 3080 . But I do feel that if the supply problem turns out to be as bad as Nvidia is reporting , then I may be interested in going for the new navi card when its released .

Purely cos AMD have said they wont have the same issues as Nvidia and that performance wise it's up there with the 3080 .

I also may upgrade to a 5000 series processor too as why not if the time scale is going that way.

Such a shame so many scalpers and bots ruined the 30 series launch. ( with news of a certain AIB board manufacturer scalping their own products ) .

I am sure this is going to trigger some people and it's not at ALL a dig at PCS , cos again they have been very good so far. Maybe a little more info but apart from that very good.

This is a stonking monitor, it's 1440 ultrawide.

1440p is a normal monitor with resolution 2560 x 1440

1440 Ultrawide is quite literally 1.5 x 1440p monitors across so resolution of 3840 x 1440.

So I managed to raise enough and have ordered a Samsung G7

So very happy to have ordered my G7 monitor 2 days ago. £607 including delivery . Amazon prime day it's now £713 . Got to love promotions with one of the biggest companies in the world.
I found that with a lot of the Prime Day offers, while there were some great deals on their own Nest and Alexa products, MOST of the other offers when you typed into google to find other retailers offers, there was actually very little discount, it was just clever marketting to entice you in and make it seem like a phenominal deal.

Obviously there were some standout deals, especially with SSD's, but generally I don't think it's particularly beneficial.

I'm glad you got it at a good price, it's still only 1440p, but at least you won't be bottlenecking the FPS of the card which will generally reach above 144hz. For most people though, there is quite literally zero difference above around 120Hz.

If you're going to get an 80 series GPU, you should get the monitor to utilise the power of it. Otherwise you're literally throwing your money away.

or

Anything lower that something like these is just a waste.
Not if the GPU is for rendering video etc.

Thank you for the link. I am happy with my G7 Samsung atm. I will upgrade to a 4k monitor once I have the spare cash and when they start getting refresh rates closer to 1440p area's. Again tho thank you for your post
