Suggestions for new desktop pc.

Hi guys, I have two desktop pc's one is my main machine and a good spec two years old. But I have an older machine I also use. Not worth updating as it is about 9 years old. Can you suggest a reasonable spec for a new PC for gaming and general surfing etc? My budget is about £2k. The monitor I use with the machine is Dell U3415W (3440 x 1440) So won't be replacing the monitor.

system info.
i7 3770 CPU 3.5GHz
Windows 10
Asus XONAR PHOEBUS Sound card
AMD Radeon HD 5800 Graphics (this was not the original card and it replaced a higher spec one that became defective).
RAM 32GB
Motherboard ASUS P8Z77 -M PRO

Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Hello, the budget should be sufficient for an entry-level 1440p configuration; however, the monitor is not suitable for gaming due to its extremely low refresh rate (60Hz), lack of modern features (e.g. HDR), and general outdated hardware (2014).
I strongly suggest to get a modern, decent monitor as well, as this will bottleneck the entire system.

Here's an example of a 1440p build costing £2,000.

PS. I intentionally omitted the OS license, expecting you to transfer it from your current PC.

thank you for your feedback. Can you suggest a more modern monitor? I do prefer larger screens due to eye problems.
thanks.

A really good quality one in the same resolution but with really top notch IPS panel and an in built KVM switch so you can connect say an additional laptop to the monitors second display input and use the same keyboard and mouse on both systems

its currently on offer too @ £400, @Martinr36 has this monitor if you want some real world feedback
