Do let me know if I'm interpreting this incorrectly: Overclocking doesn't void your CPU/GPU warranty if the overclocking doesn't damage your CPU/GPU. But if it does, then your warranty is void. That's like saying you won't go to jail if you rob a bank. Unless of course you get caught robbing the bank.

PCS will void your warranty if you overclock the GPU at all. If you overclock the CPU and damage it they will call that negligence on your part.
So why are we even having this conversation? This is exactly what I was pointing out in my very first post.
EDIT: The point I was making is that if the OP is worried about getting a Zotac card because they can't overclock it (it is power locked) then they shouldn't worry about simply flashing the Zotac GPU BIOS to the Gigabyte one to unlock it. Someone pointed out/implied that flashing the BIOS without permission would void their warranty but overclocking was fine. Turns out, my original thinking was correct.

I disagree. If you read my original post, I took the time to point out to the OP a number of things about their misperception of getting an 'inferior GPU brand' based on years of experience and up to date information. Another of their concerns was that they would receive a card that they wouldn't be able to overclock (such as the Zotac which is power capped at the BIOS level). Again, I provided a simple solution to this. It's only logical that if someone wants to (try to) overclock these already maxed out cards, the last thing they should be worried about is flashing the BIOS to another card. It was then (incorrectly) pointed out to me that flashing the GPU BIOS would void their warranty but overclocking wouldn't.
I'm more than happy to provide more objective information that might help the OP in their RTX decision making, including and why it makes sense to buy from PC Specialist, despite not knowing up front which card they will ultimately get. Only if wanted of course.

I have the 3090 and my build has had one allocated already - I'm on Day 33 with only the Ryzen 5090x CPU left pending - hopefully another 2 weeks of waiting and then it'll enter build....
Glad I switched to the 3090 when I did as waiting for the 3080 feels like a dead-end IMO

£800 is a conservative figure, my friend paid over £700 for the 3070 of that!

I think you're absolutely right.
I have only just seen how expensive the graphic cards have become. If I was to order my PCS build now I would be looking at a £300-£400 price increase compared to what I paid.
Congratulations! When did you initially order/switch to the 3090?
