Switch 3080 to 3090 for a faster build?

After reading this thread and getting advice on CPU’s elsewhere, I changed my 11600k to a Ryzen 5800x and changed my generic (Zotac??) 3090 to a Strix3090. CS rep said the queue for the Strix is shorter because its more expensive than the generic 3090.
I said screw it and paid the Strix tax as well as the 3090 tax after I was told I could get €200-300 more for the spare builds I am selling to help fund this PCS build than I had conservatively estimated so hopefully that’ll materialise and will offset the extra cost of the Strix.

Me too. Ordered a 5800x/Rog Strix x570-F/Strix3090 this morning based on some of the info in this thread to try and maximise my chances of getting the build quickly. ie. picking main parts that I know are in stock or might have a delivery soon and/or have lower queue numbers. Fingers crossed this pays of. Most expensive PC I've ever bought or built. LOL.

I spoke to someone on live chat and also recieved an email response too that the regular 3090s are usually taking around 2 to 3 weeks to go into building due to the high pressure on the building team. So hopefully not too long for you now.

Ok so after 54 working days I have gone into buildiing 😊. I swapped over from a 3080 to a strix 3090 last Tuesday so 7 day wait.

Happy to hear it! I'm still F5'ing my order page...only working day 12 for the normal 3090 :(

That's true! The most recent 3090 build threads on here so far have been 12 working days and 17 working days, I shouldn't be too far off now!

Saw that the STRIX 3090 went from greyed out Pre-Order Only to just Pre-Order Only, so I've done the upgrade over live chat and should be going into building shortly :) Seems like they received a big batch of STRIX to cover the orders placed so far!

Yeah I was told they were due to recieve a batch near end of May. Mine is currently awaiting dispatch because of packaging shortages :ROFLMAO:
