TDP of RTX 3060 & RTX 3070

Hi All,

Does anyone here know the TDP for the RTX 3060/RTX 3070 used in the Ionico?

I found specs on Eluktronic's website for a laptop that appears to be the same Tongfang chassis.
Since I don't know who sets the TDP (Tongfang or PC Specialist), I'm not sure if I can simply apply the specs below to the Ionico...

For the RTX 3070 it should be the same as the one you quoted. For the 3060 we actually don't know for sure as the motherboard differs (Intel vs AMD) but should be a Max-P nonetheless. Tongfang does not use Max-Q as Clevo does.

PS: I've preordered a Ionico 17 RTX 3070 myself, to be assembled the 19th, it seems.

Thanks! I hope you don't mind me asking: why did you decide to go with the 3070 instead of the 3060? I'm still trying to figure out which option would be the best (I'll use it for gaming and CAD/rendering)

On a laptop you want the gpu as powerful as you can afford as it will be the first bottleneck. Especially for rendering though, it can use whatever power you configure, the more the better.

As Spyder said, those GPU are soldered. If you see in some benchmarks it might be needed, go for it. For what I've seen in benchmarks of similar products, RTX 3070 Max-P is a great product, rivalling 3080 Max-Q products. That laptop comes with a 2560x1440 @ 165 Hz screen. I think the extra juice of the RTX 3070 might be needed for future proofing an extra bit.

Hi @SebAhl, unfortunately I’ve only managed to find information on where PCSpecialist purchase their PC GPUs (Zotac and Palit) but nothing on these newer laptops, you might have to ring up to find out.

It would be the original equipment manufacturer that would typically set the TGP ie Tongfang (if that’s where their supply comes from). Although PCSpecialist might be able to do some tweaking on their end.

With regards to the specs posted on Eluktronic's website - although those ranges are vague - it’s extremely likely they’ll build the laptops using the lower limits of those ranges. It’s likely to be 90W for the 3060 with the option to (OC) overclock to 100W using unofficial means, combined with the DBT getting it up to 115W max. 3070 will likely be 115W with an adjustable TGP of 10W to push it up to 125W (+ boost to reach 140W max), and 3080 will also likely be sold at a base of 115W. The vendors that are selling their Max-P variants at Max TGP are likely to shout it out from the rooftops as soon as it’s confirmed because majority of people are searching for the higher power variants

Best way to find out is to call, I rang the other day to ask about the Max-Q variants

Just to put everything in perspective, 2021 Tongfang chassis (any, for Zen2, Zen3 or Intel CPUs) shares a common Control Center, and those are the sliders for the GPU in a given config:

You get the chance to set a given TGP, as high as desired (115W or 125W, depending by the chassis), plus the Dynamic Boost, you can select as high as 15W.

This is an Intel chinese version of it, you can see 125W stock + DB (picture can't show the DB, but you can imagine it just below):

You can save up to 15 profiles for your desires and you can fast switch among 3 of them with the press of the dedicated hw button.

RTX3060 is certainly a Max-P. No near to be 90W unless you choose to do so (you can slide it down for your thermals/fan), but it's absolutely allowed to reach the OFFICIAL 115W + DB2.0.

No Max-Q are found in 2021 Tongfangs.
